MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,532 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,532 m of the 3,094 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 501 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Brussels Airport, EBBR. This process took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 19, with a takeoff distance of 1,773 meters, which is 65% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 156 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 19°C temperature and a wind speed of 0 knots at 359°. There was no crosswind or headwind. The enroute climb started overhead Sterrebeek, Flanders, Belgium, where the aircraft began its ascent from 1,278 feet above sea level to 34,625 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,346 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 116 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Duvy, Hauts-de-France, France, and lasted for 144 minutes, covering a distance of 1,052 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 14 miles east of Mohammed V International Airport, Casablanca, Morocco. The descent from 35,144 feet above sea level to 2,780 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,363 feet in 21 minutes, covered a distance of 112 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 28 at Menara Airport, GMMX, was made from the east, heading 278.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,241 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 28, which has a length of 3,094 meters, was successful, with the threshold height above target and the threshold speed slightly above target at 145 knots. The touchdown point was 90 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 136 knots, which was a little fast, and a touchdown rate of -433 feet per minute, which was hard.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 32°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 280°, with a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,456 meters, which is 47% of the runway length.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, taking 6 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,289 nautical miles, taking 200 minutes, and the aircraft used 7,897 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at GMMX Menara Airport, achieving a score of 90.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 278.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,241 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 28, which has a length of 3,094 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 90 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal touchdown point. The touchdown speed of 136 knots was slightly above the target speed, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to make adjustments to reduce the speed during the approach. The touchdown rate of -433 feet per minute (fpm) was considered hard, indicating a relatively steep descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 32°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from 280°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions were favorable for the landing, with the headwind helping to reduce the aircraft's ground speed and making the approach more stable.
The runway touchdown alignment was reported to be very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and avoided any deviations from the centerline.
Overall, while the landing was not perfect, the Airbus A320 pilot demonstrated good skills and control during the approach and landing phases. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and touchdown rate to achieve a more ideal landing.
