Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,733 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,733 m of the 2,685 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 607 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a CRJ900, then departed from runway 12L at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (KMSP). The takeoff distance was 1,828 meters, which was 75% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 159 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 269 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of Mendota Heights, Minnesota. The climb took 18 minutes and covered a distance of 97 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,728 feet above sea level to 33,834 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,106 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 5 miles northwest of Elma, Iowa. This phase lasted for 56 minutes and covered a distance of 353 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile south of Morrisville, Missouri. The descent took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 77 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 34,004 feet above sea level to 3,060 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,943 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile southwest of Hiwasse, Arkansas. This phase lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 16 at the Northwest Arkansas National Airport (KXNA), approaching from the north at a heading of 160.0 degrees. The aircraft was at an altitude of 1,372 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 16 was successful, with the touchdown point being 183 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 106 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -150 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 270 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 0 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,645 meters, which was 61% of the runway length. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 7 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 540 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 97 minutes. The aircraft used 3,077 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The CRJ900 aircraft successfully landed at KXNA Northwest Arkansas National Airport, achieving a score of 89.2%. The final approach was conducted from the north, heading 160.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,372 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was on a steady course for a landing on runway 16, which has a length of 2,685 meters.
Upon reaching the threshold, the aircraft's height was well above the target, indicating a good approach path. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 120 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's descent rate or the pilot's decision to maintain a safe speed. Despite this, the touchdown point was 183 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The touchdown speed of 106 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -150 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a well-controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions were favorable for the landing, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component and a headwind of 0 knots. The total landing distance of 1,645 meters was 61% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
During the rollout, the aircraft maintained a very good alignment with the runway centerline, indicating that the pilots had good control of the aircraft. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft scored well on most of the key performance metrics.
