Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,187 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 11 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by FWB EasyJet, a commercial airliner. The aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles (nm).
Upon reaching the runway, the aircraft departed from runway 17 at LPPR Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto, Portugal. The takeoff distance was 1,416 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 147 knots (kn), and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 13°C, a wind speed of 3 knots (kn) at 190°, with a crosswind of 1 kn and a headwind of 2 kn.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,243 feet above sea level (asl) to 26,278 ft asl, an increase of 25,035 ft in just 11 minutes, covering a distance of 41 nm. The climb started overhead LPPR Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto, Portugal.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 31 nm. This phase began 3 miles northeast of Rubiais, a town located in the Distrito de Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent from 26,271 ft asl to 3,193 ft asl, a decrease of 23,078 ft in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 63 nm. This descent started 3 miles west of LELB Regional Emergency Center Heliport Albendea in Galicia, Spain.
The aircraft then underwent another climb phase, this time from 3,201 ft asl to 4,016 ft asl, an increase of 815 ft in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nm. This climb started 1 mile southeast of Naron, a town located in Galicia, Spain.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nm. This phase began 3 miles south of Valdovino, a town located in Galicia, Spain.
The final descent phase began overhead Ferrol, a city located in Galicia, Spain, and took the aircraft from 4,015 ft asl to 1,562 ft asl, a decrease of 2,453 ft in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nm.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 21 at LECO A Coruña Airport from the northeast, heading 211.0° at 4 nm and 1,253 ft above ground level (agl). The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 133 kn and a touchdown distance of 11 meters.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C, a wind speed of 2 kn at 200°, with a crosswind of 0 kn and a headwind of 2 kn. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.6 meters from the centerline, but the runway rollout alignment was very good.
The total landing distance was 666 meters, which accounted for 30% of the runway. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nm.
The total flight distance was 164 nm, and the flight duration was 52 minutes. The aircraft used 1,839 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, FWB EasyJet, successfully landed at LECO A Coruña Airport, achieving a score of 92.2%. The final approach was conducted from the north east, heading 211.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,253 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft then landed on runway 21, which has a length of 2,187 meters.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 133 knots was also satisfactory, demonstrating that the pilot had maintained control and was at the correct speed as they touched down on the runway. The touchdown distance of 11 meters was also within acceptable limits, further indicating a well-executed landing.
However, the touchdown rate was very hard, at -511 feet per minute (fpm). This suggests that the aircraft may have touched down with a higher than ideal rate of descent, which could potentially lead to a bumpy ride for passengers. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.6 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's approach or a minor issue with the aircraft's navigation system.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 9°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from 200°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and a headwind of 2 knots, which would not have significantly impacted the landing. The total landing distance of 666 meters was 30% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits.
Finally, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot had maintained control and was able to smoothly bring the aircraft to a stop after landing. Overall, while there were a few minor issues with the landing, the pilot's performance was generally satisfactory, and the aircraft was able to safely touch down on the runway.
