MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,193 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 481 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport (EDDH) served as the departure point, where the Airbus A319 began taxiing from the parking area to runway 33. The taxi operation lasted 6 minutes and covered less than 1 nm. The aircraft rolled off the runway at 33, with a takeoff distance of 1,466 m, which represented 46 % of the available runway length. Liftoff occurred at a speed of 159 kt under local weather conditions of 21 °C, 11 kt wind from 291°, providing a crosswind component of 7 kt and a headwind of 8 kt.
The climb phase commenced 1 mile south of Norderstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, where the aircraft ascended from 1,012 ft to 29,788 ft, an increase of 28,776 ft over 12 minutes while covering 69 nm. Level cruise began 3 miles southeast of Rastede, Lower Saxony, lasting 3 minutes and covering 23 nm. Descent started 2 miles southeast of Ostrhauderfehn, Lower Saxony, with the aircraft descending from 29,990 ft to 1,285 ft, a decrease of 28,706 ft in 28 minutes and covering 146 nm.
The final approach to runway 06 at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (EHAM) was executed from the southwest, maintaining a heading of 58.0° at 4 nm and 1,285 ft AGL. Landing occurred on runway 06, which is 3,193 m long; the threshold height at 56 ft AGL was slightly above target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 138 kt. The touchdown point was 62 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 130 kt and a touchdown rate of –401 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect. Local weather at the destination was 19 °C, 12 kt wind from 19°, with a crosswind of 7 kt and a headwind of 9 kt. The total flight distance was 245 nm, the flight duration was 49 minutes, and 1,956 kg of fuel were consumed.
The final approach to runway 06 at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was executed from the south west, maintaining a heading of 58.0° at 4 nm and 1,285 ft AGL. The aircraft descended to a threshold height of 56 ft AGL, slightly above the target, and approached the runway with a threshold speed of 138 kt, also marginally above the desired value. The approach quality was consistent, with the aircraft remaining aligned with the runway centerline and the wind conditions—12 kt at 19°, 7 kt crosswind, and 9 kt headwind—providing a stable glide path.
At touchdown, the aircraft touched down 62 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 130 kt, a little fast relative to the target. The touchdown rate was hard at –401 fpm, yet the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating precise lateral control. The aircraft’s final approach and touchdown characteristics were within acceptable limits, demonstrating effective handling of the wind and runway conditions.
The rollout proceeded smoothly over the remaining runway length of 3,193 m, with the aircraft maintaining centerline alignment throughout. The overall performance score for the landing was 92.8 %, reflecting a high level of proficiency in approach, touchdown, and rollout phases under the given weather conditions.
