Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,586 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,586 m of the 2,233 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 670 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 17 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 35L at LTFM İstanbul Airport. The takeoff distance was 2,387 meters, which accounted for 59% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 139 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 15 knots at a direction of 50 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 11 knots and a headwind of 9 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 2 miles northwest of LTFM İstanbul Airport Arnavutköy. The climb took 22 minutes and covered a distance of 97 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,277 feet above sea level to 35,094 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,817 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 11 miles southeast of Biga in Canakkale, Turkey. This phase lasted for 27 minutes and covered a distance of 188 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 8 miles southeast of LGMK Mykonos Island National Airport Mykonos in the South Aegean region of Greece. The descent took 25 minutes and covered a distance of 119 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 35,165 feet above sea level to 1,485 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,680 feet.
The final approach to runway 27 at LGIR Heraklion International Nikos Kazantzakis Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 275.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,389 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 27, which had a length of 2,233 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 142 knots. The touchdown point was 255 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 129 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was firm at -300 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 20 knots at a direction of 330 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 17 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,506 meters, which accounted for 67% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 415 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 90 minutes. The aircraft used 3,574 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Heraklion International Nikos Kazantzakis Airport (LGIR) with a score of 92.6%. The final approach to runway 27 was initiated from the east, heading 275.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,389 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway, which has a length of 2,233 meters, with a good threshold height. The threshold speed was also satisfactory at 142 knots. However, the touchdown point was slightly beyond the designated touchdown zone, located 255 meters down the runway. The touchdown speed of 129 knots was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -300 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 7.3 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing included a temperature of 14°C, with a wind speed of 20 knots from 330°. This resulted in a crosswind of 17 knots and a headwind of 12 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's alignment during touchdown.
The total landing distance of 1,506 meters was 67% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively to bring the plane to a stop.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and coming to a stop within a reasonable distance. However, the slight misalignment from the centerline and the touchdown point being beyond the designated zone may indicate areas for improvement in the pilot's technique or the aircraft's handling characteristics.
