Improve the rollout
Ground control varies with speed, full authority at walking pace, progressively reducing as groundspeed rises. The aircraft becomes twitchy at any speed, every small pedal input swings the nose, which can encourage large-amplitude leg inputs that no real aircraft would accept.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: centreline 1.2° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,155 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,155 ft of the 9,004 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,229 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 24L at KLAX, a movement that required 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 24L, the Boeing 737-800 accelerated to a liftoff speed of 150 kt, using 4,699 ft of runway (47 % of the available length). Ambient conditions were 72 °F with a wind of 3 kt from 248°, providing a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 2 kt head-wind component.
The climb began 1 mile west of KLAX, where the aircraft rose from 972 ft asl to 38,903 ft asl, an altitude gain of 37,931 ft achieved in 23 minutes while traversing 157 nm.
The first cruise segment was initiated 2 miles north of 63CA Desert Air Sky Ranch Airport and lasted 53 minutes, during which the flight covered 385 nm at level altitude.
Descent commenced 10 miles southeast of KLSB Lordsburg Municipal Airport, with the airplane descending from 38,992 ft asl to 5,849 ft asl, a loss of 33,143 ft over 22 minutes and a distance of 121 nm.
A second level cruise started 5 miles west of Homestead Meadows, North, Texas, lasting 6 minutes and covering 16 nm before the final approach began.
The final approach to runway 26L at KELP was executed from 1,276 ft agl down to 93 ft agl in 91 seconds, and the aircraft met the stabilisation gate criteria.
Landing on runway 26L at KELP was performed with a threshold speed of 146 kt; touchdown occurred 869 ft beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 138 kt and a vertical rate of minus 159 fpm. Local weather reported 65 °F with a wind of 4 kt from 347°, giving a 4 kt cross-wind and a 1 kt head-wind component. The total landing distance measured 4,895 ft, representing 54 % of the runway length.
During rollout, the aircraft’s alignment was slightly off centreline by 27 ft, but the runway exit was achieved within the remaining runway length.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 686 nm, required 116 minutes of flight time, and consumed 11,566 lb of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 conducted the final approach to runway 26L at KELP, El Paso International Airport and was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits. Descent was from 1,276 ft AGL to 93 ft AGL in 91 seconds and the approach earned points on the stabilisation gates.
Threshold height was reported as good and the threshold speed of 146 kt was also judged good during the flare segment.
Touchdown occurred 869 ft beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 138 kt, a vertical rate of minus 159 fpm and very good runway-touchdown alignment. Total landing distance was 4,895 ft, representing 54 % of the 9,004 ft runway, and the local weather was 65 °F with wind 4 kt from 347°, giving a 4 kt crosswind and 1 kt headwind.
Rollout alignment was slightly misaligned, deviating 27 ft from the centreline.
Maintain the current stabilised-approach technique that produced the high score, and concentrate on keeping the aircraft centred during rollout to eliminate the 27-ft deviation.
