MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Reduce power earlier on final to bleed speed back to 131 kt before crossing the threshold.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 138 kt, 7 kt above the 131 kt target.
Watch for: Airspeed, targeting 131 kt at the threshold.
See Arrival Landing
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,330 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 404 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320-ceo taxied from the parking area to runway 05 at LPMA Madeira International Airport, a movement that lasted 8 minutes and covered 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 05, the aircraft used 1,299 m of runway, representing 50 % of the available length, and rotated at 150 kt; ambient conditions were 24 °C with a wind of 4 kt from 090°, a 2 kt cross-wind component and a 3 kt head-wind component.
Climb commenced overhead Machico, lifting the airplane from 955 ft asl to 35,990 ft asl, an increase of 35,036 ft achieved in 20 minutes while covering 132 nm.
Level cruise began approximately 100 miles north-east of LPPS Porto Santo Airport and continued for 53 minutes, during which the flight traversed 406 nm.
Descent was initiated 57 miles north-west of Peniche, descending from 36,025 ft asl to 1,525 ft asl, a loss of 34,499 ft over 23 minutes and a distance of 117 nm.
The final approach to runway 35 at LPPR Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport involved a descent from 1,364 ft agl to 109 ft agl in 101 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 35 was executed with a threshold speed slightly above target at 139 kt; touchdown occurred 404 m down the runway at 137 kt with a vertical speed of minus 190 fpm, and runway touchdown alignment was very good. Local weather reported 16 °C, wind 1 kt from 350°, with no cross-wind and a 1 kt head-wind component.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,166 m, equivalent to 35 % of the runway, and runway rollout alignment was perfect.
After landing, the aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking stand in 8 minutes, traveling 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 664nm, required 109 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 4,235 kg of fuel.
