Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,094 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 320 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 08L at PHNL Daniel K Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, Hawaii. The takeoff distance was 1,339 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and winds of 13 knots at 39 degrees. The crosswind was 10 knots, while the headwind was 8 knots. After departing from Honolulu, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and took the aircraft up to a height of 31,460 feet above sea level. This climb covered a distance of 106 nautical miles and took 18 minutes, with the aircraft increasing its altitude by 30,434 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 277 minutes and covered a distance of 2,091 nautical miles. This phase took the aircraft 32 miles northeast of Haiku-Pauwela, Hawaii. The cruise phase was followed by an enroute descent, which began 22 miles northwest of KNUC San Clemente Island Naval Auxiliary Landing Field in San Clemente Island, California. The descent took the aircraft down from a height of 31,292 feet to 1,613 feet above sea level, a decrease of 29,679 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 96 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 27 at KSAN San Diego International Airport from the east. The aircraft was heading 286.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,575 feet above ground level. The local weather conditions at San Diego were characterized by a temperature of 19 degrees Celsius and winds of 10 knots at 240 degrees. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 7 knots.
The aircraft landed on runway 27, which had a length of 2,094 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 129 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 322 meters, and the touchdown speed was 123 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -113 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 2,304 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 326 minutes. The aircraft used 16,226 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at San Diego International Airport (KSAN) on runway 27, achieving a high score of 98.9%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 286.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,575 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was well-executed, with a good threshold height and a slightly below-target threshold speed of 129 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 322 meters, which is considered good. The touchdown speed of 123 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -113 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and precision.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 19°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from 240°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was also 7 knots, resulting in a negligible wind effect on the aircraft's approach and landing. The total landing distance of 947 meters was 45% of the runway length, indicating a safe and controlled landing.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft maintained a very good alignment with the runway, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's speed and direction. Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft performing well within the expected parameters.
