Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,661 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 528 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-MAX8, then departed from runway 30R at Dubai International Airport (OMDB). The takeoff distance was 1,340 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 162 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 32 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 13 knots at 280 degrees. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots. The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile northwest of OMDB, where the aircraft climbed from 1,049 feet above sea level to 36,458 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,409 feet in 18 minutes and covering 129 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 25 miles northwest of the Gulf of Oman, where the aircraft flew for 113 minutes, covering a distance of 1,036 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 10 miles southeast of Jhunjhunu Airport (VI69), descending from 37,005 feet above sea level to 10,134 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,871 feet in 17 minutes and covering 121 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, this time starting 4 miles south of Faridabad, India, and lasting 2 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 8 miles northeast of Sohna, India, where the aircraft descended from 9,491 feet above sea level to 3,617 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,874 feet in 5 minutes and covering 20 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 3 miles west of Faridabad, India, and lasting 5 minutes, covering 15 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 3 miles west of Noida, India, where the aircraft descended from 3,015 feet above sea level to 2,051 feet above sea level, a decrease of 964 feet in 2 minutes and covering 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at Indira Gandhi International Airport (VIDP) was made from the east, heading 272.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,289 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown point 110 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 128 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was firm at -301 feet per minute.
The total landing distance was 1,025 meters, which accounted for 39% of the runway. However, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 25.8 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 3 knots at 210 degrees, with a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 1 knot.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking from the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 1,348 nautical miles, taking 182 minutes, and the aircraft used 6,170 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft successfully landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, VIDP, on runway 27. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 272.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,289 feet above ground level. The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 134 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 110 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 128 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate was firm at -301 feet per minute, indicating a controlled descent. However, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 25.8 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from 210°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. Despite these conditions, the aircraft's landing distance was 1,025 meters, which is 39% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance, but the misaligned touchdown position may have contributed to a longer rollout.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was again found to be misaligned by 25.5 meters from the centerline. This suggests that the pilot may have struggled to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase, possibly due to the initial misaligned touchdown position. Overall, while the landing was successful, there are areas for improvement in terms of maintaining alignment and control during the rollout phase.
