Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,817 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,817 m of the 3,003 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 818 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 05 at MMHO General Ignacio P. Garcia International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,130 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 147 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 130 degrees.
As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute level cruise, which started overhead MMHO General Ignacio P. Garcia International Airport Hermosillo. This phase of the flight lasted less than 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead the same airport and took the aircraft from 1,993 feet above sea level to 39,694 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,701 feet in 22 minutes, covering 129 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 21 miles east of MMXS Tarachi Airport Sahuaripa, and lasted for 47 minutes, covering 394 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 15 miles south of MMKX La Palmosa Airstrip Castanos, and took the aircraft from 40,063 feet above sea level to 8,795 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,268 feet in 12 minutes, covering 72 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed again, this time starting 3 miles south east of Garcia, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 3 miles south east of Garcia, and took the aircraft from 8,795 feet above sea level to 2,554 feet above sea level, a decrease of 6,241 feet in 7 minutes, covering 21 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 11 at MMMY Monterrey International Airport was made from the north west, with a heading of 121.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,281 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 11, which had a length of 3,003 meters. The threshold height was excessively over target, but the threshold speed was slightly above target at 138 knots.
The touchdown point was 367 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 128 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -316 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 100 degrees.
The total landing distance was 1,701 meters, which accounted for 57% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 624 nautical miles, and the flight took 97 minutes, using 2,847 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 has successfully landed at Monterrey International Airport (MMMY) with a score of 80.9%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the northwest, heading 121.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,281 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 11, which has a length of 3,003 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 367 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the pilot may have slightly overestimated the distance required to stop the aircraft. The touchdown speed of 128 knots was also a little fast, which could have contributed to the firm touchdown rate of -316 feet per minute (fpm). However, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
The threshold height at 108 feet agl was excessively over target, suggesting that the pilot may have descended too quickly or too late. The threshold speed of 138 knots was slightly above target, which could have been a result of the firm touchdown rate. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a headwind of 7 knots.
The crosswind component was minimal, with a speed of 3 knots, which made the landing conditions relatively easy. The total landing distance of 1,701 meters was 57% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had sufficient runway remaining to stop the aircraft safely. Overall, while there were some minor deviations from the target values, the pilot's performance was satisfactory, and the landing was successful.
