Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 740 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 740 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 326 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 01 at ENAE Æra Airfield, where the aircraft, a PC-12, took off with a takeoff distance of 518 meters, which accounted for 86% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 87 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of -12°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 180°, resulting in a negligible crosswind and a slight tailwind.
As the aircraft climbed out of ENAE Æra Airfield, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airfield at Åmot in Innlandet, Norway. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 2,115 feet above sea level to 16,658 feet above sea level, an increase of 14,543 feet in just 8 minutes, covering a distance of 52 nautical miles. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which lasted for 13 minutes and covered a distance of 444 nautical miles, 4 miles south east of Langset in Viken, Norway.
The enroute descent began 4 miles north west of Walsrode in Lower Saxony, Germany, where the aircraft started its descent from an altitude of 17,280 feet above sea level to 1,879 feet above sea level, a decrease of 15,401 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 64 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 14 at EDVI Höxter-Holzminden Airfield was made from the north west, heading 137.0° at 3 nautical miles and 930 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 14 at EDVI Höxter-Holzminden Airfield was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 82 knots, which was slightly faster than the target speed. The touchdown distance was good at 325 meters, and the touchdown rate was perfect at -20 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 1°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 186°, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 591 meters, which accounted for 80% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft was able to taxi to the parking area from the runway in less than 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 564 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 38 minutes, during which the aircraft used 544 kilograms of fuel.
The PC-12 aircraft successfully landed at EDVI Höxter-Holzminden Airfield, achieving an overall score of 84.7%. The final approach was conducted from the north-west, heading 137.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 930 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was on track to land on runway 14, which has a length of 740 meters.
Upon touchdown, the threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 87 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 325 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 82 knots was slightly faster than desired, but the touchdown rate of -20 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a stable and controlled touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 3.6 meters, which may require some adjustments in the approach and landing technique. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 1°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from 186°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots.
The total landing distance of 591 meters was 80% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with some minor areas for improvement.
