Improve the takeoff
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 4,001 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 416 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 16 at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The Honda Jet took off with a takeoff distance of 642 meters, which is 16% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 126 knots, indicating a smooth and efficient takeoff.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 5°C temperature and a wind speed of 18 knots at 164 degrees. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 18 knots, which would have assisted the aircraft's climb. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 966 feet above sea level to 1,769 feet, an increase of 802 feet in just 1 minute, while covering a distance of 1 nautical mile.
After the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 8 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. This phase was initiated 1 mile northwest of Yeni Suraxani, a location within Baku City, Azerbaijan.
As the aircraft approached the end of its flight, it began its final approach to runway 16 at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The approach was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 168.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level.
The landing was executed smoothly, with a threshold speed of 110 knots and a touchdown speed of 94 knots. The touchdown distance was 415 meters, which is a relatively short distance considering the runway length of 4,001 meters. The touchdown rate was also smooth at -134 feet per minute, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 4°C temperature and a wind speed of 15 knots at 170 degrees, with a minimal crosswind component of 1 knot and a headwind component of 15 knots. The total landing distance was 759 meters, which is 19% of the runway length. The total flight distance was 12 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 12 minutes. The aircraft used 88 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Honda Jet successfully landed at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport, achieving a score of 98.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 168.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions.
The temperature at the time of landing was 4°C, with a wind speed of 15 knots blowing from 170°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 15 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the landing. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was maintained at 110 knots, indicating a well-executed approach.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown speed of 94 knots and a smooth touchdown rate of -134 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control. The touchdown distance of 415 meters was also within the acceptable range.
The total landing distance of 759 meters was only 19% of the runway length, indicating a short and controlled landing. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, showcasing the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing roll. Overall, the Honda Jet's landing at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport was a success, with the pilot executing a precise and controlled approach and landing.
