Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,203 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 358 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-MAX8, then departed from runway 07C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF), with a takeoff distance of 1,315 meters, which was 33% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 158 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 30°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 9°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 3 knots. After departing from Frankfurt, the enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,411 feet above sea level to 37,193 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,782 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 129 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 1 mile north-east of Margut, France, and lasted for 2,223 minutes, covering a distance of 790 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 3 miles east of Bailen, Spain, descending from 37,181 feet above sea level to 35,035 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,146 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 28 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 2 miles south-west of Porcuna, Spain, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent overhead Castro del Rio, Spain, descending from 35,033 feet above sea level to 998 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,035 feet in 27 minutes, covering a distance of 64 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 31 at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (LEMG) was made from the south-east, heading 312.0° at 4 nautical miles and 936 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 133 knots and a touchdown rate of -318 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.2 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 28°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 10°, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 925 meters, which was 29% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The total flight distance was 1,038 nautical miles, taking 174 minutes, and the aircraft used 6,189 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft successfully landed at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, achieving a high score of 98.9%. The final approach to runway 31 was conducted from the southeast, with the aircraft heading 312.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 936 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed smoothly, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 137 knots. The touchdown distance was also within acceptable limits at 357 meters, and the touchdown speed of 133 knots was well within the recommended range. The touchdown rate was firm at -318 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent.
However, there was a slight deviation in the runway touchdown position, with the aircraft being 3.2 meters off-centerline. This minor misalignment did not seem to affect the overall performance of the landing. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 28°C and a gentle wind of 5 knots at 10°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots.
The total landing distance of 925 meters was only 29% of the runway length, indicating a short and controlled rollout. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining a straight path after touchdown. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent control and precision throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
