MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,131 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 363 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (KBHM), the CRJ900 began its journey on runway 24. The aircraft accelerated down the 2,138-meter runway, utilizing 65% of its length, and lifted off at a speed of 161 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a gentle tailwind of 3 knots, with a crosswind of 10 knots from a direction of 130 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it transitioned into an enroute climb, which began approximately 1 mile northeast of Birmingham. The climb phase saw the aircraft ascend from an initial altitude of 1,616 feet above sea level to a cruising altitude of 35,013 feet, a vertical gain of 33,397 feet, in just 13 minutes. The enroute level cruise phase followed, lasting 18 minutes and covering a distance of 489 nautical miles, before the aircraft began its descent towards its destination. The descent phase saw the aircraft lose 30,989 feet in altitude in 16 minutes, covering 164 nautical miles, before entering a brief level cruise phase near the Financial District in New York. The final descent phase began overhead Eastchester, with the aircraft touching down on runway 13 at LaGuardia Airport (KLGA) after a total flight distance of 836 nautical miles.
The landing phase was notable for a slightly high threshold speed of 145 knots, but the touchdown distance of 365 meters was within acceptable limits. The touchdown speed of 140 knots was a little fast, but the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The total landing distance of 1,089 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway length, was also within acceptable limits. Following a smooth rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in just 1 minute, covering a short distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight duration was 63 minutes, with the aircraft consuming 3,893 kilograms of fuel during the journey.
The CRJ900 touched down on runway 13 at KLGA LaGuardia Airport with a satisfactory approach quality, maintaining a steady heading of 122.0° from a distance of 1 nautical mile and an altitude of 312 feet above ground level. The aircraft's descent was well-controlled, allowing for a good threshold height. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 145 knots, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal landing speed.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was a little fast at 140 knots, resulting in a fair touchdown rate of -295 feet per minute. The touchdown distance of 365 meters was within acceptable limits, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 18 knots from 160°, contributed to a moderate crosswind of 11 knots and a headwind of 14 knots. The total landing distance of 1,089 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway length, was reasonable considering the wind conditions.
The rollout phase was executed smoothly, with the aircraft maintaining very good alignment on the runway centerline. Overall, the landing performance of the CRJ900 was satisfactory, with a score of 98.4%. While there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters, the pilot's skills and the aircraft's handling characteristics ensured a safe and controlled landing.
