Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,755 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 335 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 07 at WBGG Kuching International Airport. The takeoff distance was 626 meters, which accounted for 17% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 125 knots, and the local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 25°C and no wind.
As the aircraft climbed out of Kuching International Airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile east of the airport. The aircraft climbed from 1,065 feet above sea level to 26,156 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,091 feet, in just 8 minutes and covering a distance of 11 nautical miles. The climb was followed by a brief enroute level cruise, which lasted 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 26,156 feet to 37,513 feet above sea level, an increase of 11,356 feet, in 7 minutes and covering 39 nautical miles. This climb was followed by a longer enroute level cruise, which started 12 miles south west of WBGN Sematan Airport and lasted 39 minutes, covering a distance of 301 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, which started 40 miles east of WMBT Tioman Airport. The descent from 36,600 feet above sea level to 2,792 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,807 feet, took 18 minutes and covered a distance of 103 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise, which lasted 2 minutes and covered 3 nautical miles.
The final descent started 8 miles south of WMKD Kuantan Airport, and the aircraft descended from 2,571 feet above sea level to 1,544 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,026 feet, in just 3 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 36 at WMKD Kuantan Airport, heading 4.0° at 3 nautical miles and 1,485 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 36 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 335 meters and a touchdown speed of 86 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -100 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions were again favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a wind of 7 knots at 340°.
The total landing distance was 1,309 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft then began taxiing to the parking, which took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 471 nautical miles, and the flight used 772 kilograms of fuel.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at WMKD Kuantan Airport, achieving a score of 97.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 4.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,485 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions.
The temperature at the time of landing was 24°C, with a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 340°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 7 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the landing. The aircraft touched down on runway 36, which has a length of 2,755 meters.
The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 94 knots. The touchdown distance was also satisfactory, measuring 335 meters. The touchdown speed of 86 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -100 feet per minute (fpm). However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.2 meters from the centerline.
Despite this minor deviation, the pilot maintained excellent control during the rollout, ensuring that the aircraft remained aligned with the runway centerline. The total landing distance was 1,309 meters, which is 47% of the runway length. Overall, the landing was executed smoothly and efficiently, with the pilot demonstrating a high level of skill and expertise.
