MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,139 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,278 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at UNTT Bogashevo Airport, which took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 21, with a takeoff distance of 1,330 feet, which was 16% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 59°F temperature and a wind of 15 knots at 219 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 15 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Z25P Tomsk Bogashevo Tomsk, where the aircraft climbed from 1,621 feet above sea level to 29,430 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,809 feet in 19 minutes, covering 51 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 9 miles southwest of Kozhevnikovo and lasted 62 minutes, covering 261 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 5 miles east of Tatarsk, descending from 29,782 feet above sea level to 1,567 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,214 feet in 28 minutes, covering 94 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at UNOO Omsk Central Airport was from the east, heading 257.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,251 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 25, which was 8,139 feet long, had a threshold height of 81 feet above ground level, significantly above the target. The threshold speed was also too high at 87 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 1,270 feet, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 70 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -230 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 68°F temperature and a wind of 16 knots at 210 degrees, with a crosswind of 11 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,695 feet, which was 21% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. Taxiing to the parking from the runway took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 412 nautical miles, taking 117 minutes, and the aircraft used 809 pounds of fuel.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at UNOO Omsk Central Airport, with a final approach score of 85.3%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the east, heading 257.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,251 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was conducted on runway 25, which has a length of 8,139 feet.
Upon reaching the threshold, the aircraft was found to be significantly above the target height, at 81 feet agl. This indicates that the pilot may have been a bit high on the approach, which could have been due to a variety of factors such as incorrect airspeed, altitude, or descent rate. Additionally, the threshold speed was too high at 87 knots, which could have contributed to the high altitude at the threshold.
Despite the initial issues, the touchdown distance was good at 1,270 feet, indicating that the pilot was able to recover and make a smooth touchdown. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 70 knots, which could have put additional stress on the aircraft's landing gear. The touchdown rate was fair at -230 feet per minute (fpm), which is a reasonable rate for a Vision Jet.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain a stable and aligned approach to the runway. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 68°F and a wind speed of 16 knots at 210°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 11 knots, which is relatively light and should not have significantly impacted the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,695 feet, which is 21% of the runway length. This is a reasonable distance, considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some areas for improvement, such as maintaining a more stable approach and reducing the touchdown speed. With some adjustments to the approach and landing technique, the pilot should be able to achieve an even higher score on future landings.
