MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,750 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 291 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Embraer E175 aircraft took off from runway 13R at John F Kennedy International Airport, located in New York, United States. The taxiing process from the parking to the runway took approximately 9 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its departure roll, and after a takeoff distance of 1,192 meters, which was 43% of the runway, it lifted off at a speed of 156 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 15 knots coming from a direction of 180 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a headwind of 8 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport, and it climbed from an altitude of 1,045 feet above sea level to 17,736 feet above sea level, an increase of 16,690 feet, in just 5 minutes and covering a distance of 29 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 5 miles north of Fort Salonga, New York, and lasted for 7 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 86 nautical miles. The enroute descent then began 6 miles southeast of Narragansett Pier, Rhode Island, and the aircraft descended from an altitude of 17,665 feet above sea level to 1,352 feet above sea level, a decrease of 16,314 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 63 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 24 at Nantucket Memorial Airport was made from the northeast, heading 225.0 degrees, at an altitude of 1,315 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 24, which had a length of 1,750 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 138 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 292 meters, but the touchdown speed of 134 knots was fast, and the touchdown rate was fair at -220 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.0 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 11 knots coming from a direction of 210 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The total landing distance was 1,239 meters, which was 71% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing process from the runway to the parking took approximately 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 186 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 36 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 1,154 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Embraer E175 aircraft successfully landed at KACK Nantucket Memorial Airport, achieving a score of 97.3%. The final approach was conducted from the north-east, heading 225.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,315 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 24, which has a length of 1,750 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, but the threshold speed was above the target at 138 knots. This indicates that the aircraft may have been slightly high or fast during the approach. However, the touchdown distance of 292 meters was within acceptable limits. The touchdown speed of 134 knots was faster than desired, resulting in a fair touchdown rate of -220 feet per minute (fpm).
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.0 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the crosswind or pilot error. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a headwind of 11 knots at 210°. The crosswind was minimal at 3 knots, which reduced the impact on the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,239 meters was 71% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was excellent, showing that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor issues with speed and alignment that need to be addressed in future approaches.
