Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: centreline 1.1° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,565 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,565 m of the 3,000 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 511 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Douglas DC-6 taxied from the parking area to runway 04L at MMSM Aeropuerto Internacional General Felipe Ángeles in 18 minutes, covering 9 nm on the ground.
During the departure roll the aircraft accelerated along runway 04L, using a takeoff distance of 857 m (19 % of the runway) and achieving a liftoff speed of 101 kt; ambient conditions were 21 °C with a wind of 21 kt from 040°, providing a 21 kt headwind and a 3 kt cross-wind component.
The first en-route climb began 1 mile north-east of MMSM, where the DC-6 rose from 8 609 ft asl to 14 866 ft asl, a gain of 6 257 ft in 5 minutes while covering 17 nm.
A level cruise segment commenced 2 miles west of Tequixquiac, lasting 18 minutes and extending over 78 nm at the cruise altitude.
A second climb was initiated overhead MMQT Querétaro Intercontinental Airport, increasing altitude from 14 996 ft asl to 15 891 ft asl, a rise of 894 ft in 2 minutes and spanning 7 nm.
The next cruise phase started 3 miles south-east of Chichimequillas, persisting for 15 minutes and covering 65 nm.
Descent began 5 miles south-east of Santa María del Río, with the aircraft descending from 15 977 ft asl to 10 279 ft asl, a loss of 5 698 ft in 7 minutes while traveling 29 nm.
A brief cruise followed 2 miles south-east of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nm.
The second descent started overhead MMSP Ponciano Arriaga International Airport, dropping from 9 987 ft asl to 8 040 ft asl, a decrease of 1 947 ft in 3 minutes across 11 nm.
A further cruise segment began 9 miles east of Ahualulco del Sonido Trece, lasting 2 minutes and encompassing 5 nm.
On final approach to runway 14 at MMSP, the aircraft descended from 1 385 ft agl to 59 ft agl in 117 seconds, meeting the stabilization gates criteria.
Landing on runway 14 was executed with a threshold speed of 113 kt; touchdown occurred 88 m beyond the touchdown zone at 105 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 181 fpm and a lateral deviation of 3.6 m from the centreline. Weather at the time was 19 °C with a wind of 13 kt from 100°, giving a headwind component of 8 kt and a cross-wind of 10 kt. The total landing distance measured 1 477 m, representing 49 % of the runway length.
Runway rollout showed a slight alignment offset of 7.8 m from the centreline as the aircraft decelerated to a stop.
The DC-6 taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm on the ground.
In total, the flight covered 234 nm, required 66 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 914 kg of fuel.
