MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,562 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,562 m of the 3,504 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 367 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The 2.59 G arrival is the firm side of smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 15L at KIAH, a movement that lasted 15 minutes and covered 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 15L, the Boeing 777-300ER accelerated over a takeoff distance of 2,064 m (56 % of the runway) and lifted off at 166 kt. Ambient conditions were 35 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 290°, a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 1 kt tail-wind component.
The climb began 1 mile south of KIAH, climbing from 1,004 ft asl to 37,007 ft asl-a gain of 36,002 ft-in 15 minutes while traversing 96 nm.
The first cruise segment commenced 4 nm north-east of Zavalla, lasting 102 minutes and covering 820 nm at level flight.
Descent phase one started 4 nm east of WV63 Herold Airport, descending from 37,003 ft asl to 7,021 ft asl-a loss of 29,982 ft-in 20 minutes and spanning 126 nm.
A brief cruise followed 3 nm east of Skyland Estates, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nm.
Descent phase two began 1 nm north of VA97 Harris Airport, dropping from 7,010 ft asl to 6,388 ft asl (a loss of 622 ft) in 2 minutes while covering 6 nm.
The next cruise segment was overhead Middleburg, lasting 3 minutes and extending 12 nm.
Descent phase three started 3 nm north-east of Haymarket, descending from 5,394 ft asl to 1,809 ft asl-a reduction of 3,585 ft-in 3 minutes and covering 11 nm.
A final cruise segment began 1 nm north-east of Manassas, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nm.
The first final approach to runway 01R at KIAD reduced altitude from 1,186 ft agl to 114 ft agl in 105 seconds, with the aircraft scoring on the stabilisation gates.
A go-around was executed on runway 01R at KIAD at 67 ft agl.
A second final approach to runway 01R at KIAD brought the aircraft from 1,188 ft agl to 108 ft agl in 100 seconds, again scoring on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 01R, which is 3,504 m long, the aircraft touched down at a threshold height of 71 ft agl and a threshold speed of 144 kt. Touchdown occurred 367 m down the runway at a speed of 144 kt; the vertical speed was minus 726 fpm and the touchdown point was 3.8 m off centreline. Local weather at the time was 15 °C with a wind of 5 kt from 20°, a 2 kt cross-wind component and a 4 kt head-wind component.
The total landing distance recorded was 1,483 m (42 % of the runway) and the rollout was offset by 8.1 m from the centreline.
After landing, the aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 6 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered 1,149 nm, required 184 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 21,039 kg of fuel.
