Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 3,291 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 3,291 m of the 3,710 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,311 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.

The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 5 minutes, covering 2 nm.
In total, the flight covered 236 nm, taking 60 and used 7,490 kg of fuel.
The final approach to runway 02 at LPPT Humberto Delgado Airport was conducted from the south on a heading of 23.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,273 ft agl. Local weather was 20 °C with wind 4 kt from 339 °, providing a 3 kt headwind component and a 3 kt crosswind component.
The threshold height was good and the threshold speed was good at 150 kt, indicating a properly configured approach for the landing.
Touchdown occurred 907 m beyond the touchdown zone with a touchdown speed of 150 kt that was good, and the aircraft settled at a smooth rate of -119 fpm. The touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 6.0 m from the centreline.
The aircraft rolled out over a total landing distance of 3,223 m, representing 87 % of the 3,716 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
Focus on establishing the aim point approximately 300 m (1,000 ft) in and maintaining a stabilized approach to avoid excessive touchdown distance, and work to keep the touchdown point within a few metres of the centreline to improve lateral accuracy.
