MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 740 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 740 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 374 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 31L at EDDK Cologne Bonn Airport, with a takeoff distance of 390 meters, which accounted for 21% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 88 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 269°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was also 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead EDDK Cologne Bonn Airport, and involved ascending from an altitude of 760 feet above sea level to 6,009 feet above sea level, an increase of 5,249 feet, in 4 minutes and covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile east of Huerth, Germany, and lasted for 173 minutes, covering a distance of 36 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started overhead Ubachsberg, Netherlands, and involved descending from an altitude of 5,992 feet above sea level to 2,800 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,192 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead Epen, Netherlands, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 06 at EBTX Theux (Verviers) Airfield was made from the southwest, heading 53.0°, at an altitude of 380 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway.
The landing on runway 06 at EBTX Theux (Verviers) Airfield was characterized by a runway length of 740 meters. The threshold height at 83 feet above ground level was significantly above the target, while the threshold speed was well above the target at 107 knots. The touchdown point was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway, and the touchdown speed at 97 knots was too fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -336 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 20.8 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 270°. The crosswind component was 1 knot, while the tailwind component was 2 knots. The total landing distance was 674 meters, which accounted for 91% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 26.0 meters from the centerline. The total flight distance was 67 nautical miles, taking 140 minutes, and the aircraft used 0 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft in question, a M500, has been involved in a landing at EBTX Theux (Verviers) Airfield, with a final approach score of 63.3%. The approach was made from the south-west, heading 53.0° at 1 nautical mile and 380 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft landed on runway 06, which has a length of 740 meters.
Upon analysis, it appears that the aircraft did not meet the target threshold height, being significantly above it at 83 feet agl. Additionally, the threshold speed was well above the target at 107 knots. This suggests that the pilot may have been experiencing difficulties in controlling the aircraft's descent and speed during the final approach.
The touchdown point was also found to be very long, using more than 50% of the available runway. Furthermore, the touchdown speed of 97 knots was too fast, and the touchdown rate was firm at -336 feet per minute (fpm). This indicates that the pilot may have been experiencing difficulties in controlling the aircraft's speed and descent rate during the landing.
The runway touchdown position was also significantly misaligned by 20.8 meters from the centreline, which could have contributed to the difficulties experienced during the landing. Local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 15°C, a wind speed of 2 knots at 270°, and a crosswind of 1 kt and a tailwind of 2 kt.
The total landing distance was 674 meters, which is 91% of the available runway. This suggests that the pilot may have been experiencing difficulties in controlling the aircraft's speed and descent rate during the landing. The runway rollout alignment was also found to be misaligned by 26.0 meters from the centreline, which could have contributed to the difficulties experienced during the landing.
Overall, the landing was not executed to the desired standards, with several key performance indicators being outside of the target range. The pilot may have been experiencing difficulties in controlling the aircraft's speed and descent rate during the final approach and landing, which could have contributed to the misaligned touchdown and rollout.
