Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 2,241 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,241 m of the 3,505 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 389 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Overall, achieving a landing score of 95.6% is a fantastic accomplishment and demonstrates a high level of skill and precision in the various phases of the landing process. The Approach Phase was particularly impressive, with excellent glideslope alignment indicating a smooth and controlled descent towards the runway.
In the Landing Phase, while the threshold height was slightly below target, the perfect landing flare shows that the pilot was able to make a smooth transition from descent to touchdown. The Touchdown Phase had a few areas for improvement, such as a hard touchdown rate and a slightly higher speed than target. However, the fact that the touchdown distance was inside the touchdown zone is a positive note, demonstrating good judgment and control.
In the Rollout Phase, the runway alignment being 6.0 m from the centerline may indicate some room for improvement in maintaining a straight path after touchdown. However, this minor deviation does not take away from the overall successful landing.
In conclusion, this landing score reflects a high level of competence and proficiency in handling the aircraft during the landing process. With continued practice and attention to detail, the pilot can further refine their skills and aim for even higher scores in the future. Keep up the great work and strive for perfection in every aspect of your flying!
