MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 2,177 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,177 m of the 2,353 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 651 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 07 at EGGW London Luton Airport. The Airbus A320 took off after covering 55% of the 1,140-meter runway, reaching a liftoff speed of 149 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 8 knots from a direction of 119 degrees, resulting in a 5-knot headwind and a 5-knot crosswind.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile east of EGGW London Luton Airport. The climb took the aircraft from an initial altitude of 1,390 feet above sea level to a maximum altitude of 31,374 feet, an increase of 29,984 feet over a distance of 95 nautical miles, covering the distance in 16 minutes.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile south east of Taddington in Derbyshire, England. This phase lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 39 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started overhead Colne in Lancashire, England. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 31,356 feet to 1,327 feet, a decrease of 30,029 feet over a distance of 144 nautical miles, covering the distance in 27 minutes.
The final approach to runway 05 at EGPF Glasgow International Airport was made from the south west, with the aircraft heading 46.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,281 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 05, which had a length of 2,353 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius and a wind of 14 knots from a direction of 80 degrees, resulting in a 7-knot crosswind and an 11-knot headwind.
The touchdown point was 229 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was slightly fast at 138 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -312 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.8 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 2,090 meters, which accounted for 89% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.1 meters from the centerline.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 4 minutes. The total flight distance was 285 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 56 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 2,110 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 aircraft successfully landed at EGPF Glasgow International Airport, with a score of 82.9%. The final approach to runway 05 was initiated from the south west, heading 46.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,281 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold speed of 142 knots, which was considered good. However, the touchdown speed of 138 knots was slightly faster than ideal. The touchdown rate was firm, at -312 feet per minute, indicating a controlled descent. Unfortunately, the touchdown point was 229 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may have been due to a slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position, being 8.8 meters off the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots at 80°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The total landing distance was 2,090 meters, which accounted for 89% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned, being 9.1 meters off the centerline.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and alignment of the runway touchdown position and rollout. However, the pilot's skills and the aircraft's performance were sufficient to ensure a safe and controlled landing.
