Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,070 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 308 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied to runway 27 at London City Airport and commenced the take-off roll, covering 621 m which represented 41 % of the available runway. Liftoff was achieved at 92 kt. Ambient conditions were 16 °C with a 2 kt wind from 269°, resulting in a 2 kt head-wind component and no cross-wind.
Climb began one mile east of Canary Wharf, where the airplane rose from 1,025 ft asl to 3,320 ft asl, an altitude gain of 2,295 ft in one minute while traversing 2 nm.
A level cruise segment was flown overhead of Canary Wharf for two minutes, covering a distance of 5 nm.
Descent commenced two miles west of Woodford Green, descending from 3,709 ft asl to 3,007 ft asl, a loss of 702 ft over two minutes and a ground track of 6 nm.
The next cruise leg started one mile south-east of Hadley Wood, lasting two minutes and extending 5 nm.
A further descent was initiated over Shenley, dropping from 2,492 ft asl to 1,226 ft asl, a reduction of 1,266 ft in two minutes while covering 4 nm.
The aircraft then entered a cruise segment north-west of North Mymms, remaining level for six minutes and traveling 14 nm.
Descent resumed over Kimpton, falling from 1,949 ft asl to 902 ft asl, a decrease of 1,048 ft in two minutes across 4 nm.
Final approach to runway 25 at London Luton Airport involved a descent from 747 ft agl to 99 ft agl in 64 seconds, with the aircraft scoring on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 25 was executed with a threshold speed of 88 kt; touchdown occurred at 75 kt and 308 m down the runway, the rate of descent being hard at minus 440 fpm. The runway length is 2,070 m, the threshold height at 72 ft agl was above target, and the total landing distance measured 775 m (37 % of the runway). Alignment on touchdown and rollout was perfect, and local weather reported 15 °C with a 2 kt wind from 270°, providing a 2 kt head-wind and 1 kt cross-wind.
Runway rollout proceeded without deviation, maintaining the perfect alignment noted at touchdown.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to parking in one minute, covering less than one nautical mile.
In total the flight covered 44 nm, took 18 minutes, and consumed 2 kg of fuel.
The TBM 850 performed the final approach to runway 25 at EGGW London Luton Airport, descending from 747 ft agl to 99 ft agl in 64 seconds and receiving a stabilisation-gate score.
During the threshold and flare the aircraft passed the threshold at a height of 72 ft agl, which was well above target, and the threshold speed was good at 88 kt.
Touchdown occurred 308 m down the runway with a good speed of 75 kt; the touchdown rate was hard at minus 440 fpm and runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 775 m, representing 37 % of the 2 070 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was perfect.
With a score of 90.8 % the landing was strong; reducing the threshold height to meet the target and moderating the touchdown rate will further improve performance.
