Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,082 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 457 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 10 at Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, also known as LIMJ. The takeoff distance was 1,353 meters, which is 49% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 180°. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile east of the airport and reaching a height of 33,574 feet above sea level. This climb phase covered a distance of 95 nautical miles and took 19 minutes, with an increase in altitude of 32,529 feet.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 4 miles south of Saint Marcel in the Regione Autonoma Valle d'Aosta, Italy. This cruise phase lasted for 32 minutes and covered a distance of 222 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting overhead Hombourg in Grand Est, France. This descent phase covered a distance of 116 nautical miles and took 25 minutes, with a decrease in altitude of 31,534 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles northeast of Holsbeek in Flanders, Belgium. This cruise phase lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 25L at Brussels Airport, which is also known as EBBR. The approach was made from the east, heading 250.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 25L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 460 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 135 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -201 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.6 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 37 knots from a direction of 230°. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a headwind of 35 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,154 meters, and the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 15.7 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 9 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 449 nautical miles, and the flight took 98 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 4,423 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Brussels Airport (EBBR) on runway 25L, achieving a score of 93.5%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 250.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach speed and threshold height were both satisfactory, with a threshold speed of 148 knots and a good touchdown distance of 460 meters.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 135 knots, which was within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown rate was slightly below average at -201 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a slightly longer deceleration period. The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 7.6 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the subsequent rollout alignment issues.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C, with a wind speed of 37 knots from 230°. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a headwind of 35 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's alignment during rollout. The total landing distance was 1,154 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.7 meters from the centerline, indicating a slight deviation from the desired path.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal performance. The aircraft's speed and touchdown distance were satisfactory, but the touchdown rate and rollout alignment were slightly below average. The weather conditions also played a role in the landing, with the crosswind and headwind affecting the aircraft's alignment during rollout.
