Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,741 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 146 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a CRJ900, then departed from runway 12L at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (KMSP). The takeoff distance was 1,317 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 19 knots coming from a direction of 100 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 18 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile east of KMSP, rising from an altitude of 1,764 feet above sea level to 17,235 feet above sea level, an increase of 15,471 feet, in 7 minutes and covering a distance of 28 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started overhead Belle Plaine, Minnesota, and lasted for 16 minutes, covering a distance of 96 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started overhead the Worthington Municipal Airport (KOTG) in Worthington, Minnesota. The descent from 17,664 feet above sea level to 4,805 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,859 feet, took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 51 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile south of Harrisburg, South Dakota, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The final descent phase began 3 miles northwest of Worthing, South Dakota, and the aircraft descended from 4,841 feet above sea level to 2,730 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,111 feet, in 5 minutes and covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03 at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport (KFSD) / Joe Foss Field was made from the southwest, heading 35.0 degrees, at an altitude of 1,290 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 03, which had a length of 2,741 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 143 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 147 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 142 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -228 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 11 knots coming from a direction of 20 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,356 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 196 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 51 minutes. The aircraft used 1,363 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The CRJ900 aircraft successfully landed at KFSD Sioux Falls Regional Airport / Joe Foss Field, achieving a score of 99.0%. The final approach was conducted from the southwest, heading 35.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,290 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 03, which has a length of 2,741 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 142 knots, coming in at 143 kt. Despite this, the touchdown distance was good at 147 meters, showing that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent.
The touchdown speed of 142 kt was a little fast, which may have contributed to a touchdown rate of -228 feet per minute (fpm), classified as fair. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 2°C and a wind speed of 11 kt from a direction of 20°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 kt and a headwind of 11 kt, which the pilot successfully managed during the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,356 meters, which is 49% of the runway length. This indicates that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent and rollout, and the runway rollout alignment was very good. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop in a controlled manner.
