Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,037 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 432 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an EasyJet FWB, then departed from runway 16C at LOWG Graz Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,698 meters, which accounted for 62% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 163 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 147 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of Zettling in the Austrian state of Steiermark. The climb took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 60 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 2,108 feet above sea level to 27,812 feet.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted 22 minutes and covered a distance of 151 nautical miles. This phase took place overhead the town of Liezen in Steiermark, Austria. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting overhead Ehingen in the German state of Bavaria. The descent took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 69 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 27,654 feet to 2,399 feet.
The aircraft then began another climb phase, starting 1 mile west of Schonaich in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. This climb took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 10 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 2,441 feet to 9,800 feet. The aircraft then began another descent phase, starting overhead Leonberg in Baden-Wuerttemberg. The descent took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 9,801 feet to 2,473 feet.
The final approach to runway 25 at EDDS Stuttgart Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 254.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,223 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 25, which had a length of 3,037 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 30 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 3 knots.
The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 124 knots and a touchdown rate of -196 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The total landing distance was 1,068 meters, which accounted for 35% of the runway. The aircraft then began its taxiing period from the runway to the parking, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 313 nautical miles, and the flight took a total of 74 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 2,757 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The FWB EasyJet aircraft successfully landed at EDDS Stuttgart Airport, achieving a high score of 99.8%. The final approach to runway 25 was conducted from the east, with the aircraft heading 254.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,223 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed smoothly, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 128 kt, which was within the acceptable threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 427 meters was also within the desired range, indicating a well-controlled descent. Furthermore, the touchdown speed of 124 kt was good, and the touchdown rate of -196 feet per minute (fpm) was also within the acceptable limits.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a gentle wind of 4 kt at 30°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 kt, and the tailwind component was also 3 kt, which did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,068 meters was 35% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the runway length of 3,037 meters. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop quickly and efficiently after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was executed flawlessly, with the aircraft touching down smoothly and coming to a stop quickly and efficiently. The high score of 99.8% reflects the excellent performance of the pilot and the aircraft during the landing.
