MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,785 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,785 ft of the 13,175 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,499 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Wakkanai Airport, located in RJCW. This process took approximately 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 26, with a takeoff distance of 1,526 feet, which accounted for 21% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 94 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 36°F temperature and a wind speed of 8 knots at 230 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the headwind was 7 knots. The enroute climb started over the Wakkanai Airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,045 feet above sea level to 29,318 feet above sea level, a total increase of 28,272 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 59 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 10 miles south of Gornozavodsk, Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, and lasted for 54 minutes, covering a distance of 216 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 66 miles northwest of UHTZ Agzu, Primorskiy Kray, Russia, and descended from 29,200 feet above sea level to 7,130 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,070 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 72 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 30 miles northeast of UHK1 Kalinka Airport Blagodatnoye, Khabarovskiy Kray, Russia, and lasted for 20 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 18 miles northeast of UTOP Topolevo Airport Topolevo, Khabarovskiy Kray, Russia, and descended from 6,678 feet above sea level to 1,336 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,342 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 11 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 8 miles northeast of UHHH Khabarovsk Novy Airport Khabarovsk, Khabarovskiy Kray, Russia, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 23L at UHHH Khabarovsk Novy Airport was made from the northeast, with a heading of 207.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 959 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 23L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 1,495 feet, which was good. The touchdown speed was 64 knots, and the touchdown rate was excellent at -96 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 14 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 28°F temperature and a wind speed of 1 knot at 160 degrees, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 5,447 feet, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 96 feet from the centreline. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 8 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 384 nautical miles, taking 121 minutes, and the aircraft used 482 pounds of fuel.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed on runway 23L at UHHH Khabarovsk Novy Airport, achieving a score of 79.1%. The final approach was initiated from the north-east, heading 207.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 959 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 64 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 1,495 feet was also considered good. However, the threshold height at 73 feet agl was above the target, and the threshold speed of 82 knots was also higher than expected.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 28°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 160°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and headwind component, making the landing conditions relatively favorable.
Despite the favorable weather conditions, the aircraft's runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 14 feet from the centreline. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 96 feet from the centreline. These deviations from the centreline may indicate a slight loss of control or misjudgment of the landing distance.
Overall, the Vision Jet aircraft demonstrated a good performance during the landing, with a touchdown speed and distance that were within acceptable limits. However, the deviations from the centreline and the above-target threshold height and speed suggest areas for improvement in the pilot's landing technique.
