MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,790 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 411 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from ESMS Malmö Sturup Airport, the Airbus A321 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. Upon reaching runway 35, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, accelerating down the 1,912-meter-long runway, which represented 69% of its total length. At a liftoff speed of 148 knots, the aircraft successfully lifted off the ground, taking advantage of the 2-knot headwind and minimal crosswind conditions.
As the aircraft climbed away from Malmö, it began its enroute climb, ascending from 1,212 feet above sea level to 24,009 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 73 nautical miles. The climb was characterized by a steady increase in altitude, with the aircraft reaching its cruising altitude in a relatively short period. Following a brief level cruise phase, the aircraft initiated its enroute descent, starting from an altitude of 23,992 feet and descending to 1,389 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 66 nautical miles. The descent was carefully managed to ensure a smooth transition to the final approach phase.
As the aircraft approached EDDH Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport, it began its final approach to runway 23, aligning itself with the runway from the north-east. The landing was executed with precision, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 130 knots and a distance of 411 meters, which was slightly longer than the target touchdown distance. The touchdown rate was firm at -317 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. Following a smooth rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 205 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 2,215 kilograms of fuel during the journey, which took a total of 44 minutes.
The aircraft touched down on runway 23 at EDDH Hamburg Helmut Schmidt Airport with a firm touchdown rate of -317 fpm, slightly above the target rate. The touchdown speed of 130 kt was a little fast, but the aircraft maintained perfect runway touchdown alignment. The approach quality was good, with a threshold height that was well within acceptable limits.
The aircraft's performance during the rollout phase was equally impressive, with perfect centerline alignment throughout. The total landing distance of 1,434 m was 51% of the runway length, indicating a good balance between speed and control. The threshold speed of 137 kt was slightly above the target, but the aircraft's handling and control remained stable throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
Overall, the landing was considered a success, with a score of 99.0%. The approach and touchdown phases were executed well, with good threshold height and firm touchdown rate. The rollout phase was also flawless, with perfect centerline alignment. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 3 °C and a headwind of 3 kt, did not appear to have any significant impact on the landing.
