MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Fly a steeper descent on final so you cross the threshold at 50 ft agl instead of 66 ft agl.
What happened: The aircraft crossed the threshold at 66 ft agl against a 50 ft agl target, well above the normal profile. The touchdown point was also long at 821 m against a 457 m target, a pattern often seen after high threshold crossings.
Watch for: Radio altimeter against the 50 ft threshold crossing target on short final.
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,810 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,810 m of the 4,000 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 821 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320-ceo departed Munich Airport (EDDM) from runway 26R. The take-off roll was 2,118 m, representing 53 % of the runway, and rotation occurred at 158 kt. Local weather was 15 °C with wind 1 kt from 308°, crosswind 0 kt and headwind 0 kt.
Initial climb to 1,000 ft agl took 22 seconds, averaging 1,989 fpm and reaching 172 kt at the top of the segment. The climb continued from 2,459 ft asl to 37,542 ft asl in 21 minutes, covering 139 nm and beginning about 1 mile north-west of Munich.
Cruise was level at 37,100 ft asl for 144 minutes, covering 1,170 nm, with the aircraft overhead Villach at the start of the cruise segment.
Descent began at 37,602 ft asl and proceeded to 1,724 ft asl in 27 minutes, covering 142 nm. The descent started 36 nm north of Rosetta and included a brief level-off at 2,800 ft asl.
Final approach to Cairo International Airport (HECA) runway 05R started from 1,420 ft agl and descended to 177 ft agl in 103 seconds. Stabilisation checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway were met for gear down, landing flap, sink rate, glideslope, centreline, speed and wings level. Configuration on final was gear down at 1,937 ft agl and 185 kt, with final flap position 5 at 1,688 ft agl and 178 kt.
Landing on runway 05R occurred with a threshold height of 66 ft agl, which was above target, and a threshold speed of 135 kt, described as good. The flare was perfect; the aircraft floated before touchdown. Touchdown was 398 m beyond the touchdown zone, at 122 kt (good) with a rate of -270 fpm (fair). The touchdown point was misaligned by 9.0 m from the centreline. No bounce was observed. Total landing distance was 1,723 m, 43 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was slightly off by 8.9 m from the centreline.
Local weather at HECA was 22 °C with wind 6 kt from 020°, crosswind 3 kt and headwind 5 kt.
After landing, taxiing to the parking area took 18 minutes and covered 4 nm. The total flight distance was 1,464 nm, the total time 224 minutes, and fuel consumption was 7,546 kg.
