Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,524 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 321 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Sirius aircraft began with a departure roll from runway 01 at T004 Quintin Lodge Airstrip. The takeoff distance was 281 ft, which equated to 18% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 56 knots. The local weather at the time of departure was 59°F with a wind speed of 1 knot coming from 270°. There was no significant crosswind or headwind during the takeoff.
After takeoff, the aircraft made a right-hand pattern entry from runway 01 at T004 Quintin Lodge Airstrip, covering a distance of less than 1 nm in 53 seconds. This was followed by a right-hand pattern crosswind leg, which covered less than 1 nm in 4 seconds. The pattern then progressed to the downwind turn, with a distance of 2 nm and an angle to the runway of 28.0°. The downwind leg was less than 1 nm and lasted 4 seconds.
The aircraft then made a base leg turn, covering a distance of 2 nm and turning at a 45° angle to the runway (152.5°). The base leg itself was less than 1 nm in length, lasting 6 seconds. The final turn in the pattern covered a distance of 1 nm in 75 seconds.
The final approach to landing at Quintin Lodge Airstrip covered a distance from 1 nm to touchdown at an altitude of 174 ft above ground level. The descent from 48 ft agl to 0 ft agl occurred over a span of 12 seconds. The landing speed was 34 knots, and the touchdown distance was 44 ft. The local weather at the time of landing was 59°F with a 1 knot crosswind and no headwind.
The landing rollout at Quintin Lodge Airstrip covered a distance of 304 ft, with an altitude of 787 ft above sea level. The total flight distance was 2 nm, taking 4 minutes, and using 0 lbs of fuel.
