See Arrival Landing
A tailwind component on base sweeps you through the extended centreline, the instinctive correction is to steepen the bank and, when that's not enough, to skid the turn with rudder. In a real aircraft this is the base-to-final stall-spin scenario that kills people. Don't steepen past 30 degrees, and if you've blown through the centreline, go around and reset.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 300 ft gate: off the runway's 3° glideslope and off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 396 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 396 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 265 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a quick taxi from the parking area to the runway, taking less than a minute and covering a distance of less than a nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna Skyhawk, then departed from runway 32R at RKSS Gimpo International Airport in Seoul, South Korea. The takeoff distance was 628 meters, which is 17% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 66 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of RKSS, it began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northwest of the airport and reaching an altitude of 1,543 feet above sea level. The climb was steep, with an increase of 504 feet in just 1 minute, and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The local weather conditions at the time were a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°, resulting in a headwind of 1 knot.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles northwest of RKSS and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time starting 7 miles west of Goyang-si and reaching an altitude of 1,949 feet above sea level. The climb was even steeper than the previous one, with an increase of 622 feet in 2 minutes, and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise continued, starting 5 miles southeast of RK0K R 107 and lasting for 8 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile east of RK0K R 107 and descending from 1,477 feet above sea level to 833 feet above sea level. The descent was steep, with a decrease of 644 feet in 2 minutes, and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10 at RK0K R 107 was made from the west, with a heading of 92.0° and an altitude of 250 feet above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, which had a length of 396 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was too high at 73 knots. The touchdown point was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 60 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -196 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 269°, resulting in a tailwind of 1 knot. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.9 meters. The total flight distance was 26 nautical miles, and the flight took 17 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 5 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Skyhawk successfully landed at RK0K R 107, achieving a score of 95.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 92.0° at an altitude of 250 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The final approach was executed smoothly, with the pilot maintaining a steady course towards the runway.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 10, which has a length of 396 meters. The threshold height was satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had sufficient clearance to safely land the aircraft. However, the threshold speed was slightly too high at 73 knots, which may have contributed to a slightly longer than ideal touchdown point.
The touchdown point was indeed very long, using more than 50% of the available runway. This may have been due to the pilot's decision to touch down at a speed of 60 knots, which is a little fast for a safe landing. Fortunately, the touchdown rate was good at -196 feet per minute (fpm), indicating that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft during the landing.
One notable issue with the landing was the slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position, which was off-centerline by 3.9 meters. This may have been due to the pilot's reaction to the wind conditions, which were relatively calm, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 269°.
The local weather conditions were generally favorable for landing, with a light tailwind of 1 knot and no crosswind. Overall, the pilot's performance was satisfactory, and the aircraft landed safely, albeit with a few minor issues that could be addressed in future training sessions.
