Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 809 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 809 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 209 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KCDW Essex County Airport, taking approximately 6 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 28, with a takeoff distance of 539 meters, which was 65% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 97 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 2°C temperature and a wind speed of 7 knots at 239°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Fairfield, New Jersey, and ascending from 1,202 feet above sea level to 7,590 feet above sea level, an increase of 6,388 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile southeast of Oakland, New Jersey, and lasted for 25 minutes, covering a distance of 108 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting overhead Savoy, Massachusetts, and descending from 7,534 feet above sea level to 2,949 feet above sea level, a decrease of 4,585 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 20 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 01 at 4V8 Deerfield Valley Regional Airport was made from the south, heading 350.0°, at 4 nautical miles and 995 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 01 took place with a runway length of 809 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed at 70 knots was well below the target, requiring caution to avoid stalling.
The landing on runway 01 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 208 meters, a touchdown speed of 67 knots, and an excellent touchdown rate of -91 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were -5°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 296°, with a crosswind component of 10 knots and a headwind component of 7 knots.
The total landing distance was 302 meters, which was 37% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The total flight distance was 143 nautical miles, taking 51 minutes, and the aircraft used -160 kilograms of fuel.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed at Deerfield Valley Regional Airport (4V8) on runway 01. The final approach was initiated from the south, heading 350.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 995 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was a little below the target at 78 kn, indicating that the pilot was cautious not to stall the aircraft. The touchdown distance was good at 208 meters, and the touchdown speed of 67 kn was also within the acceptable range. The most impressive aspect of the landing was the touchdown rate, which was excellent at -91 fpm, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, there was a slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position by 4.0 meters from the centerline. This could be attributed to the crosswind component of 10 kn, which was present during the landing. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of -5°C and a wind speed of 12 kn at 296°, also played a role in the landing.
Despite the slight misalignment, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. The total landing distance was 302 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. Overall, the Vision Jet aircraft demonstrated a good landing performance, with the pilot successfully navigating the aircraft through challenging weather conditions.
