Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,742 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,742 m of the 3,717 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 486 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Boeing 777F aircraft. The aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile (nm). The departure roll took place on runway 22 at WMKP Penang International Airport, with the aircraft taking off after covering 34% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,155 meters, and the liftoff speed was 167 knots (kt).
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 kt at 99 degrees. The crosswind component was 5 kt, while the tailwind component was 3 kt. As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead WMKP Penang International Airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,053 feet above sea level (asl) to 35,529 ft asl, an increase of 34,476 ft in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 54 nm.
The enroute level cruise started 6 miles north-west of Kuala Kedah, Malaysia, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 28 nm. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 36,306 ft asl to 41,076 ft asl, an increase of 4,770 ft in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 28 nm. The enroute level cruise started 14 miles north-west of Hat Yai, Thailand, and lasted for 31 minutes, covering a distance of 253 nm.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 41,462 ft asl to 42,219 ft asl, an increase of 757 ft in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nm. The enroute descent started 37 miles east of VTBP Prachuap Airport, Thailand, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 42,724 ft asl to 2,104 ft asl, a decrease of 40,620 ft in 29 minutes, covering a distance of 143 nm.
The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise, this time from 5 miles north-east of Ban Lam Luk Ka, Thailand, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nm. The enroute climb started 3 miles north-east of VTBS Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, Thailand, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 2,106 ft asl to 4,438 ft asl, an increase of 2,332 ft in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nm.
The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise, this time from 2 miles south of VTBS Suvarnabhumi Airport, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nm. The enroute climb started 3 miles west of Bang Bo District, Thailand, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 5,212 ft asl to 7,295 ft asl, an increase of 2,083 ft in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm.
The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise, this time from 1 mile north-west of Bang Bo District, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nm. The enroute descent started 2 miles east of VTBS Suvarnabhumi Airport, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 6,992 ft asl to 5,227 ft asl, a decrease of 1,765 ft in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 11 nm.
The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise, this time from 9 miles south-east of Ban Lam Luk Ka, and lasted
The Boeing 777F aircraft successfully landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport, with a score of 97.4%. The final approach to runway 19R was initiated from the north, with a heading of 194.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,268 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 144 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 73 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 140 knots. However, the touchdown rate was slightly below average at -268 feet per minute (fpm), which could be considered fair. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 33°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 210°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 11 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,664 meters, which is approximately 45% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a reasonable distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.9 meters from the centerline, which could be considered a minor issue.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and coming to a stop within a reasonable distance. While there were some minor issues with the touchdown rate and runway rollout alignment, the landing was still considered satisfactory with a score of 97.4%.
