Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed below the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,794 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 241 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a quick taxi from the parking area to the runway, taking less than a minute and covering less than a nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna 208B, then departed from runway 30 at LEVC Valencia Airport. The takeoff distance was 500 meters, which is 17% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 89 knots, and the local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 16°C and a gentle headwind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed out of Valencia, it began its enroute climb, starting 2 miles southeast of Ribarroja del Turia. The climb was steep, with an increase of 5,589 feet in just 5 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles. The aircraft then leveled off and entered a cruise phase, flying at a steady altitude for 18 minutes and covering 53 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another climb, this time starting 21 miles northeast of Denia. The climb was shorter and less steep, with an increase of 2,487 feet in 3 minutes, covering 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 26 miles northeast of Javea. The descent was also short, with a decrease of 2,364 feet in 3 minutes, covering 10 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another cruise phase, flying at a steady altitude for 16 minutes and covering 47 nautical miles. This phase began 20 miles west of Es Cubells, in the Balearic Islands. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 11 miles southeast of Sant Carles de Peralta. The descent was steep, with a decrease of 4,820 feet in 5 minutes, covering 13 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a final cruise phase, flying at a steady altitude for 5 minutes and covering 6 nautical miles. This phase began 2 miles southeast of Santa Eularia des Riu. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 24 at LEIB Ibiza Airport, flying from the northeast and heading 242.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,325 feet above ground level.
The landing was smooth, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 65 knots. The touchdown distance was also good, at 238 meters, and the touchdown speed was 63 knots. The touchdown rate was firm, at -387 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions were again favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a gentle headwind of 1 knot.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 158 nautical miles and took 62 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 220 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna 208B aircraft successfully landed at LEIB Ibiza Airport, achieving a high score of 97.7%. The final approach was conducted from the north-east, aligning with the runway 24 heading of 242.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,325 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft demonstrated excellent control and precision during the landing, with a good threshold height and speed. The threshold speed was maintained at 65 knots, which is a suitable speed for a safe touchdown. The touchdown distance of 238 meters was also within acceptable limits, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was recorded at 63 knots, which is a good indication of a controlled and stable landing. The touchdown rate of -387 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting a stable and controlled touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a light wind of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the headwind component was minimal at 1 knot. These conditions contributed to a smooth and controlled landing. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, resulting in a high score of 97.7%.
