Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,195 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 227 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 12 at TFFR Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,152 meters, which accounted for 45% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 12 knots at a direction of 64 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 10 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb overhead Les Abymes in Guadeloupe, ascending from an altitude of 1,038 feet above sea level to 24,640 feet above sea level, an increase of 23,602 feet in just 10 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 58 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 23 miles east of Castle Bruce in Saint David, Dominica. This cruise phase lasted for 111 minutes and covered a distance of 669 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 53 miles northwest of Mana in French Guiana. The descent from 24,856 feet above sea level to 2,908 feet above sea level, a decrease of 21,949 feet in just 23 minutes, covered a distance of 122 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 16 miles southwest of SOOK Kourou Airport in Kourou, French Guiana. This cruise phase lasted for 8 minutes and covered a distance of 25 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 08 at SOCA Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport was made from the southwest, heading at 64.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,327 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 08 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 229 meters, which was good. However, the touchdown speed of 140 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate of -231 feet per minute was fair. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 4 knots at a direction of 80 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,398 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the taxiing to the parking from the runway took just 2 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 882 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 145 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 6,490 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at SOCA Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport, showcasing a high level of precision and control. The final approach to runway 08 was executed from the southwest, with a heading of 64.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,327 feet above ground level (agl). This approach was characterized by a high score of 99.7%, indicating a nearly flawless execution.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 140 knots, which was slightly above the optimal threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 229 meters was well within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's descent. The touchdown rate of -231 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, indicating a moderate rate of descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a gentle wind of 4 knots at 80°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 4 knots, providing a relatively stable environment for the landing. The runway length of 3,195 meters was more than sufficient to accommodate the aircraft's landing distance of 1,398 meters, which accounted for only 44% of the runway.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the centerline of the runway at the moment of touchdown. This alignment was maintained throughout the rollout, with the aircraft remaining perfectly aligned with the runway centerline. Overall, the landing was characterized by a high level of precision and control, with the pilot executing a smooth and stable touchdown.
