Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,791 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 333 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Charles de Gaulle International Airport, taking 12 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 09R, with a takeoff distance of 1,295 meters, which was 36% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 168 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 21°C temperature and a wind speed of 23 knots at 29°. The crosswind component was 19 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Mauregard in the Ile-de-France region of France. During this climb, the aircraft ascended from 1,477 feet above sea level to 17,721 feet above sea level, an increase of 16,244 feet in just 6 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile south east of Cergy, lasting 2 minutes and covering 12 nautical miles. However, the aircraft soon began another climb, this time from 17,896 feet above sea level to 35,315 feet above sea level, an increase of 17,419 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 134 nautical miles. The climb took place overhead Fontenay-Saint-Pere in the Ile-de-France region.
After the second climb, the aircraft entered another level cruise, this time starting 4 miles west of LFRF Granville Airport Bréville-sur-Mer in the Normandie region of France. The cruise lasted 5 minutes and covered a distance of 40 nautical miles. However, the aircraft soon began its descent, starting 8 miles north east of Saint-Quay-Portrieux in the Bretagne region of France. The descent took place from 35,874 feet above sea level to 1,574 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,300 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 76 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 07R at Brest Bretagne Airport took place from the west, with the aircraft heading 71.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,257 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 07R, which had a length of 2,791 meters. The threshold height was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 134 knots. The touchdown distance was also good at 331 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 134 knots. The touchdown rate was heavy at -605 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 14.1 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 17°C temperature and a wind speed of 1 knot at 270°, with a crosswind component of 0 knots and a tailwind component of 1 knot. The total flight distance was 287 nautical miles, taking 58 minutes, and the aircraft used 238 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 aircraft successfully landed on runway 07R at LFRB Brest Bretagne Airport, achieving a score of 91.7%. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 71.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,257 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 134 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown distance of 331 meters was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -605 feet per minute (fpm) was considered heavy, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly rough landing.
The runway touchdown position was also found to be misaligned by 14.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 17°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the tailwind component was minimal at 1 knot.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some areas for improvement, including the touchdown speed and rate, as well as the runway alignment. These issues can be addressed through further training and refinement of the pilots' skills, as well as adjustments to the aircraft's approach and landing procedures.
