Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,927 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,927 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 834 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at LIPA Aviano Air Base, taking 6 minutes and covering 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 05, with a takeoff distance of 1,518 feet, which was 18% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 93 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 44°F, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 20°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was also 1 knot. The aircraft then took off and began its enroute climb, starting overhead LIPA Aviano Air Base. The climb took 12 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,458 feet above sea level to 18,873 feet above sea level, an increase of 17,415 feet. The aircraft covered 32 nautical miles during this climb.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 5 miles northeast of Nimis, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. This cruise lasted for 25 minutes, during which the aircraft covered 170 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 1 mile west of Lostallo, Kanton Graubunden, Switzerland. The descent took 2 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 19,182 feet above sea level to 16,664 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,518 feet. The aircraft covered 14 nautical miles during this descent.
The aircraft then began another climb, starting 2 miles northwest of Lavertezzo, Ticino, Switzerland. This climb took 2 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 16,518 feet above sea level to 18,744 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,226 feet. The aircraft covered 19 nautical miles during this climb.
The final descent started 1 mile northwest of Premia, Piemonte, Italy. The descent took 8 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 18,464 feet above sea level to 2,732 feet above sea level, a decrease of 15,732 feet. The aircraft covered 23 nautical miles during this descent.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 10 at LSTA Raron Airfield, approaching from the west at a heading of 99.0°. The aircraft was 2 nautical miles from the runway and 629 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 10, which had a length of 1,927 feet. The threshold speed was a little below the target speed at 85 knots. The touchdown point was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway. The touchdown speed was 73 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -136 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 58°F, with a wind speed of 5 knots at 194°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the tailwind was 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,892 feet, which was 98% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking from the runway, taking less than 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 264 nautical miles, and the flight took 57 minutes. The aircraft used 680 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed at Raron Airfield, with a final approach from the west at a heading of 99.0°. The aircraft was at an altitude of 629 feet above ground level (agl) and 2 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was executed on runway 10, which has a length of 1,927 feet.
The threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 85 knots. This indicates that the pilot may have been able to maintain a higher speed, but chose to land at a slightly lower speed to ensure a safe touchdown. The touchdown point was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway, which may indicate that the pilot was trying to maintain control and avoid a hard landing.
The touchdown speed of 73 knots was reported as good, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -136 feet per minute (fpm). This suggests that the pilot was able to maintain a steady descent rate and avoid any sudden drops or jolts during the landing. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centreline, which may indicate that the pilot was not perfectly aligned with the runway during the approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were reported as follows: a temperature of 58°F and a wind speed of 5 knots at 194°. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot. Despite these conditions, the pilot was able to maintain control and execute a smooth landing.
The total landing distance was 1,892 feet, which is 98% of the available runway length. This suggests that the pilot was able to maintain control and avoid any hard landings or excessive use of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control and align the aircraft with the runway during the rollout phase of the landing. Overall, the landing was executed safely and smoothly, with a score of 86.3%.
