Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,821 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,821 m of the 2,783 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 818 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 07 at EGGW London Luton Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,116 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 142 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 9°C temperature and winds of 12 knots at 9°. The crosswind was 11 knots, while the headwind was 5 knots. The enroute climb started overhead EGGW London Luton Airport, where the aircraft ascended from 1,454 feet above sea level to 33,938 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,485 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 132 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 43 miles northwest of Ter Heijde, The Netherlands, and lasted for 64 minutes, covering a distance of 517 nautical miles. The descent started 20 miles north of Rowy, Poland, where the aircraft descended from 32,993 feet above sea level to 1,774 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,218 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 65 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 29 at EPGD Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport was made from the southeast, heading 293.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,294 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 29 was successful, with a touchdown point 399 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was considered good, while the touchdown rate was fair at -266 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 8°C temperature and winds of 19 knots at 260°. The crosswind was 10 knots, while the headwind was 16 knots. The total landing distance was 1,738 meters, which accounted for 62% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight distance was 722 nautical miles, taking 118 minutes to complete, and the aircraft used 5,426 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at EPGD Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport, achieving a score of 93.9%. The final approach to runway 29 was initiated from the south east, with a heading of 293.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,294 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 143 knots. However, the touchdown point was located 399 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing path. The touchdown speed of 132 knots was within the acceptable range, but the touchdown rate of -266 feet per minute was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher rate of descent than desired.
Despite these minor issues, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 8°C and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 260°. The crosswind component was 10 knots, while the headwind component was 16 knots, which may have contributed to the slight deviation from the intended landing path.
The total landing distance of 1,738 meters was 62% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, but there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown point accuracy and touchdown rate.
