Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 899 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 899 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 141 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Kodiak 100 taxied from the parking area to runway 08 at LSPV Wangen-Lachen Airfield, a movement that lasted 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
The aircraft commenced its departure roll on runway 08, accelerating over a takeoff distance of 301 m, which represented 58 % of the runway. Liftoff was achieved at 69 kt. Local weather reported a temperature of 24 °C, wind 1 kt from 251°, with a crosswind component of 0 kt and a tailwind component of 1 kt.
Climb began overhead LSPW Wangen Lachen, rising from 2,210 ft asl to 6,595 ft asl, an increase of 4,385 ft achieved in 2 minutes while covering 4 nm.
Level cruise commenced overhead Altendorf, lasting 5 minutes and covering 16 nm.
Descent started 1 mile north east of Vitznau, descending from 7,020 ft asl to 2,493 ft asl, a decrease of 4,527 ft in 4 minutes and covering 11 nm.
Final approach to runway 20 at LSPG Kägiswil Airfield was flown from the north east, on a heading of 205.0° at 2 nm and 942 ft agl.
The aircraft landed on runway 20, whose length is 899 m. Threshold speed was slightly below target at 64 kt. Touchdown occurred 141 m down the runway at a speed of 53 kt, with a descent rate of minus 231 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was very good. Local weather at the time was 29 °C, wind 3 kt from 270°, with a crosswind component of 3 kt and a headwind component of 2 kt.
Total landing distance measured 589 m, representing 66 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was perfect.
The flight covered a total of 35 nm, took 17 and used 18 kg of fuel.
The Kodiak 100 established a final approach to runway 20 at LSPG Kägiswil Airfield from the north-east, tracking a heading of 205.0° at 2 nm and 942 ft agl. The approach featured a good threshold height, temperature 29 °C, wind 3 kt from 270°, with a 3 kt crosswind component and a 2 kt head-wind component.
At threshold the aircraft’s speed was slightly below the target, recorded at 64 kt. The aircraft continued the flare in a stabilized manner consistent with the approach profile.
Touchdown occurred 141 m down the runway at a speed of 53 kt, both judged good. The vertical rate at touchdown was fair at minus 231 fpm, and runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 589 m, representing 66 % of the 899 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was perfect.
With a final score of 95.9 %, the landing was strong overall; focus on achieving the target threshold speed and reducing the touchdown descent rate to further tighten the performance envelope. Adjusting speed management and flare timing will help bring the rate closer to the optimal range.
