Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,530 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,530 m of the 3,639 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 487 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The pre-flight preparations began with taxiing from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 06C at UUEE Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow, Russia.
The takeoff was smooth, with a takeoff distance of 15 meters, which is 0% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 179 knots, and the aircraft climbed to a height of 1,712 feet above sea level before beginning its enroute climb. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots at 0 degrees.
The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile east of the airport and continued for 17 minutes, during which the aircraft climbed to a height of 32,924 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,212 feet. This climb phase covered a distance of 112 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which started 14 miles southwest of UYAR Karachikha Airfield in Yaroslavl, Russia, and lasted for 98 minutes, covering a distance of 862 nautical miles.
The flight then entered another climb phase, which started 28 miles southeast of Mortka in Russia and lasted for 2 minutes, during which the aircraft climbed to a height of 34,767 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,814 feet. This climb phase covered a distance of 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 38 miles south of Kondinskoye in Russia and lasted for 229 minutes, covering a distance of 1,991 nautical miles.
The flight then entered another climb phase, which started 8 miles southeast of ZBHH Hohhot Baita International Airport in China and lasted for 2 minutes, during which the aircraft climbed to a height of 36,800 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,757 feet. This climb phase covered a distance of 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 22 miles south of the airport and lasted for 137 minutes, covering a distance of 1,079 nautical miles.
As the flight approached its destination, the aircraft began its descent phase, which started 5 miles east of Shiqi in China and lasted for 21 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from a height of 36,974 feet above sea level to 1,178 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,796 feet. This descent phase covered a distance of 25 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 07R at VHHH Hong Kong International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 72.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,154 feet above ground level. The landing was smooth, with a touchdown point 71 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 131 knots, and the touchdown rate was -184 feet per minute, both of which were within the acceptable limits.
The total landing distance was 1,449 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 4 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 4,106 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 520 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 63,712 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at Hong Kong International Airport (VHHH) on runway 07R, achieving a high score of 99.6%. The final approach was conducted from the west, with a heading of 72.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,154 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, indicating a stable and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was recorded at 138 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown point was located 71 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, but this deviation is relatively minor and does not indicate any significant issues with the landing. The touchdown speed of 131 knots was also within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -184 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating a smooth and controlled touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a wind speed of 2 knots at 0°. The crosswind and headwind components were minimal, at 1 knot each, which suggests that the aircraft was not significantly affected by wind during the landing. The total landing distance of 1,449 meters was 40% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft maintained a stable and controlled direction during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was executed smoothly and safely, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating excellent piloting skills.
