Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,434 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 317 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 07R at UHWW Vladivostok International Airport. The takeoff distance was 881 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 171 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of -13°C, a wind speed of 2 knots at 329°, with a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 0 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,098 feet above sea level (asl) to 37,380 ft asl, an increase of 36,282 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 106 nautical miles. The climb started overhead UHWW Vladivostok International Airport Artyom. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 35 miles northeast of UNOS Omsk Severny Airport Omsk. This phase lasted for 125 minutes, covering a distance of 1,002 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase started 86 miles southwest of Magadan, where the aircraft descended from 37,065 ft asl to 3,056 ft asl, a decrease of 34,009 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 96 nautical miles. The descent phase was followed by a brief level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles, and started 1 mile east of Sokol. The aircraft then began another climb phase, which started 5 miles west of UHMM Sokol Airport Magadan, climbing from 3,039 ft asl to 5,992 ft asl, an increase of 2,953 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles, and started 3 miles north of Sokol. The final descent phase started 10 miles southeast of Uptar, where the aircraft descended from 5,472 ft asl to 2,066 ft asl, a decrease of 3,405 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 11 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 28 at UHMM Sokol Airport was made from the east, heading 273.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,481 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 317 meters, a touchdown speed of 122 knots, and a touchdown rate of -198 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of -16°C, a wind speed of 3 knots at 310°, with a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,147 meters, which is 33% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,255 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 187 minutes. The aircraft used 20,051 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at UHMM Sokol Airport, achieving a score of 99.8%. The final approach to runway 28 was conducted from the east, with a heading of 273.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,481 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 126 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, this did not affect the overall performance of the landing, as the touchdown distance of 317 meters was considered good. The touchdown speed of 122 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -198 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of -16°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 310°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was also 2 knots. These conditions did not pose any significant challenges to the aircraft's landing performance.
The total landing distance of 1,147 meters was 33% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This indicates that the pilot was able to maintain a high level of control and precision throughout the landing, resulting in a smooth and efficient rollout.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's rollout alignment was perfect, with no deviations from the centerline of the runway. This is a testament to the pilot's skill and experience, as well as the aircraft's stability and handling characteristics. Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft touching down safely and efficiently on the runway.
