Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 11,497 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,019 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Miami International Airport, taking 11 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 08L, with a takeoff distance of 4,235 feet, which was 49% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 150 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Miami International Airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 77°F temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 109 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 3 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile south east of Miami Springs, Florida, and the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,034 feet above sea level to 27,022 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,988 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 59 nautical miles.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft began its descent 7 miles west of Islamorada, Florida. The descent from 26,871 feet above sea level to 2,837 feet above sea level, a decrease of 24,035 feet, took 32 minutes and covered a distance of 126 nautical miles. The aircraft then leveled off for a short period of 4 minutes, covering 7 nautical miles, before starting its final approach to runway 06 at Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport in Cuba.
The final approach was made from the south west, heading 55.0 degrees, at an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on runway 06, which had a length of 11,497 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was 125 knots. The touchdown distance was 1,019 feet, and the touchdown speed was 118 knots, both of which were good. However, the touchdown rate was very hard at -505 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 23 feet from the centreline, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were 70°F temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 100 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 2,139 feet, which was 19% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 3 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 201 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 63 minutes. The aircraft used 4,723 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at MUVR Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport, achieving a score of 95.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 55.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was within the acceptable range, at 118 knots, and the touchdown distance was also satisfactory, measuring 1,019 feet. However, the touchdown rate was quite hard, at -505 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate a slightly aggressive approach. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned, deviating from the centerline by 23 feet, but this did not seem to affect the overall performance of the landing.
The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 70°F and a gentle wind of 4 knots at 100°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth landing.
The total landing distance was 2,139 feet, which is only 19% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop quickly and efficiently after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing roll.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score. However, the hard touchdown rate and slightly misaligned touchdown position are areas for improvement.
