Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,860 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 38 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Dane County Regional Truax Field, KMSN, took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, HB-IJW, then began its departure roll on runway 18, utilizing 64% of the available runway length. The takeoff distance was 1,484 meters, and liftoff speed was achieved at 156 knots. Local weather conditions at the time of departure included a temperature of 4°C, with a wind of 11 knots at 150°, resulting in a 6-knot crosswind and a 9-knot headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from KMSN, it began its enroute climb 2 miles north of Monona, Wisconsin, and continued to ascend to 7,984 feet above sea level, an increase of 6,011 feet in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. Following a brief level cruise 1 mile east of Middleton, the aircraft initiated another climb 4 miles north of Cross Plains, Wisconsin, and continued to ascend to 34,000 feet above sea level, a total increase of 26,005 feet in 13 minutes, covering 73 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent 4 miles northwest of Sparta, Wisconsin, and descended to 2,283 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,715 feet in 24 minutes, covering 136 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 32 at Saint Paul Downtown Holman Field, KSTP, from the southeast, heading 327.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,583 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 116 knots and a touchdown distance of 38 meters. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 2 minutes. The total flight distance was 236 nautical miles, taking 51 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,774 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft FlyByWire Edelweiss HB-IJW successfully completed a landing on runway 32 at KSTP Saint Paul Downtown Holman Field. The approach from the south east, heading 327.0° at 4 nm and 1,583 ft above ground level, was characterized by good quality, with the pilots maintaining a stable and controlled descent. The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 116 kt was slightly below the target, indicating a slightly early touchdown.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft exhibited good characteristics, with a touchdown distance of 38 m and a touchdown speed of 116 kt, both of which were within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown rate was very hard at -558 fpm, which may indicate a slightly aggressive approach or a need for further pilot training. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.9 m from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach or a need for further pilot practice in maintaining centreline alignment.
The aircraft's rollout was characterized by very good alignment, with the pilots successfully maintaining control and direction throughout the rollout phase. The total landing distance of 924 m was 53% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, with a score of 94.0%. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 3 °C and a wind of 16 kt at 150°, may have contributed to the slightly hard touchdown rate and the slight misalignment of the touchdown position.
