Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport is a major civil airport serving Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province in North China. It is the hub for Hebei Airlines and an operating base for China United Airlines and Spring Airlines, handling a substantial volume of domestic and some international traffic.

Airspace & Location

The airport lies at Xinchengpu, in Zhengding County, Hebei province, to the north of the city of Shijiazhuang which it serves.

Runways

The airport has a single physical runway, 15/33, a hard-surfaced strip roughly 11,146-11,147 feet in length. Both directions are lit and served by an ILS approach, making the runway suitable for all-weather operations.

Air traffic control is provided by Shijiazhuang Tower on 118.35 MHz. The runway is equipped with an ILS.

History

Shijiazhuang Zhengding Airport opened on 18 February 1995 and was renamed Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport in July 2008. During the COVID-19 pandemic it served as one of several nearby airports to which Beijing-bound international flights were redirected in order to minimise imported cases. The airport is also notable as one of the few in China capable of accommodating the Antonov An-225.

The Airfield Today

The airport is a major hub for Hebei Airlines and an operating base for both China United Airlines and Spring Airlines, supporting extensive domestic services alongside a number of international and cargo routes. In 2025 it recorded 85,717 aircraft movements and just over 12 million passengers, reflecting its role as a significant regional gateway for North China.
