Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,607 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 211 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight begins with a taxing process from the parking area to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. Once at the runway, the aircraft took off from runway 09 at London City Airport (EGLC), using only 529 meters, which is 40% of the runway length, and reached a liftoff speed of 96 knots. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 21 °C and a wind of 16 knots at 80°, resulting in a headwind of 16 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it initiated an enroute climb, starting overhead the airport, which involved rising from 646 feet to 6,145 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles. Following this, the aircraft leveled off for a 12-minute cruise at Waltham Cross, covering a distance of 39 nautical miles. During the cruise phase, the aircraft was at a height of 7,145 feet.
The next phase of the flight involves a descent from 6,960 feet to 1,743 feet, in the span of 3 minutes, covering 9 nautical miles, initiated overhead Gazeley. The aircraft then leveled off once again at Wicken, this time for 2 minutes, covering 3 nautical miles. The final phase of the flight involves a descent towards Cambridge City Airport (EGSC), with the approach initiated from the north east. The aircraft reached a height of 1,281 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the airport, before touching down on runway 23, which has a length of 1,607 meters.
The landing distance was good at 421 meters, which represents 26% of the runway length. The touch-down speed was 81 knots, which was higher than desired, but the run-way touchdown alignment was excellent. The post-landing taxiing process took just 1 minute, during which the aircraft covered less than 1 nautical mile. Throughout the flight, the aircraft used 94 kilograms of fuel, covering a total distance of 69 nautical miles in 31 minutes.
The TBM 850 aircraft successfully landed at Cambridge City Airport, achieving a score of 93.2%. The final approach was conducted from the north-east at a heading of 228.0° and at a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway with an altitude of 1,281 feet above ground level (agl).
The pilot successfully navigated the aircraft onto runway 23 at EGSC Cambridge City Airport, which has a length of 1,607 meters. The threshold height appeared to be adequate during the landing. However, there was a minor issue regarding the threshold speed being too high at 88 knots.
In terms of the touchdown distance, it seemed to be satisfactory at 209 meters. Nevertheless, the touchdown speed of 81 knots was slightly above expectations, indicating that the pilot could improve by reducing the speed before touchdown. The touchdown rate was also a bit firm at -318 feet per minute (fpm), which might indicate a slight need for further improvement in terms of the pilot's touch down technique.
The runway touchdown alignment was found to be very good, showcasing the pilot's excellent skill and precision in aligning the aircraft with the runway during landing. The local weather at the time of landing included a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 13 knots from 121 degrees, with a crosswind of 12 knots and a tailwind of 4 knots.
In conclusion, the pilot's performance was overall satisfactory, scoring 93.2% in the landing evaluation. Noting a few minor points for improvement, such as reducing threshold speed and touchdown speed, the landing was deemed successful. The total landing distance of 421 meters was 26% of the runway length, and the runway rollout alignment was found to be very good, indicating good control and stability during the landing phase.
