Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,157 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,246 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Vision Jet, then departed from runway 11 at UNKL Krasnoyarsk International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,476 feet, which accounted for 12% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 96 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 29 °F and a wind speed of 3 knots at 169°. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was also 2 knots. As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead UNKL Krasnoyarsk International Airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,958 feet above sea level to 28,683 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,725 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 46 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 22 miles east of UNAZ Chilisu-Anzas Heliport. This phase lasted for 27 minutes and covered a distance of 118 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 9 miles north of Mariinsk. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 29,376 feet above sea level to 1,911 feet above sea level, a decrease of 27,465 feet in 25 minutes, covering a distance of 79 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 21 at UNTT Bogashevo Airport was made from the north-east, with a heading of 214.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,328 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 21 was successful, with the touchdown point being 708 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 69 knots, which was a little fast, and the touchdown rate was firm at -302 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 13 feet from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 37 °F and a wind speed of 6 knots at 200°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 6 knots. The total landing distance was 2,795 feet, which accounted for 34% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 249 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 77 minutes. The aircraft used 543 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed at UNTT Bogashevo Airport, but with some notable deviations from the ideal landing parameters. The final approach was initiated from the north-east, heading 214.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,328 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 21, which has a length of 8,157 feet.
However, the threshold height at 113 feet agl was significantly higher than the target, indicating that the aircraft descended more than necessary before reaching the runway. Additionally, the threshold speed of 81 knots was well above the target, suggesting that the aircraft may have been descending too quickly or that the pilot may have been trying to maintain a higher speed than necessary.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 69 knots, which was slightly faster than the target. The touchdown rate was firm at -302 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a relatively steep descent. Furthermore, the touchdown point was 708 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which may have been due to the aircraft's excessive speed or the pilot's decision to extend the landing.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 13 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to crosswind or pilot error. The local weather conditions were relatively calm, with a temperature of 37°F and a wind speed of 6 knots from 200°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,795 feet, which accounted for 34% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, but it may have been influenced by the aircraft's excessive speed and the pilot's decision to extend the landing. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, while the Vision Jet aircraft landed safely, there were several deviations from the ideal landing parameters that may have been influenced by a combination of factors, including the pilot's decision-making, the aircraft's performance, and the weather conditions.
