Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,491 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 499 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 07 at EDHL Lübeck Blankensee Airport. The TBM 850 aircraft accelerated down the runway, reaching a liftoff speed of 98 kt. The takeoff distance was 493 m, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 8 °C and a wind speed of 16 kt at 40 °, resulting in a crosswind of 9 kt and a headwind of 14 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead Gross Gronau. The aircraft ascended from 1,033 ft asl to 2,705 ft asl, a vertical increase of 1,673 ft, in just 2 minutes. This climb phase covered a distance of 6 nm. The enroute level cruise phase followed, which began 1 mile north of Gross Siemz and lasted for 24 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 89 nm.
The enroute descent phase started 3 miles north east of Mesekenhagen, where the aircraft descended from 2,749 ft asl to 1,245 ft asl, a vertical decrease of 1,503 ft, in 2 minutes. This descent phase covered a distance of 5 nm. The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise phase, which began 5 miles north of Loissin and lasted for 3 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 6 nm.
The final approach to runway 13 at EDCP Peenemünde Airport was initiated from the north west, with the aircraft heading 123.0 ° at 4 nm and 622 ft agl. The landing was made on runway 13, which had a length of 2,491 m. The threshold height at 65 ft agl was above the target, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 77 kt.
The touchdown point was 62 m beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 68 kt, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -267 fpm. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 m from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15 °C and a wind speed of 1 kt at 270 °, resulting in a crosswind of 1 kt and a tailwind of 1 kt.
The total landing distance was 630 m, which accounted for 25% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 111 nm, and the flight duration was 36 minutes. The aircraft used 103 kg of fuel during the flight.
The TBM 850 aircraft successfully landed at EDCP Peenemünde Airport, achieving a score of 90.9%. The final approach was initiated from the north-west, heading 123.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 622 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was on a steady course for runway 13, which has a length of 2,491 meters.
Upon landing, the threshold height was found to be above the target, indicating that the aircraft touched down slightly higher than intended. However, the threshold speed was well above the target at 77 knots, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown. The touchdown point was 62 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The touchdown speed of 68 knots was slightly faster than desired, and the touchdown rate of -267 feet per minute was considered fair. This suggests that the pilot may have been able to manage the descent more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 meters from the centerline, which is a minor deviation.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind and tailwind components were both 1 knot, indicating that the aircraft was not significantly affected by wind during the landing.
The total landing distance was 630 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to manage the aircraft's descent and touchdown effectively. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score of 90.9%. However, there were some minor deviations from the target, including a slightly high threshold height and touchdown speed, and a slightly misaligned runway touchdown position.
