Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,986 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 436 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-MAX8, then departed from runway 24R at LEPA Palma de Mallorca Airport. The takeoff distance was 46 meters, which is 1% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 169 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 18 knots at a direction of 50 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 18 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 2 miles south east of Palma, and climbed from an altitude of 1,007 feet above sea level to 32,990 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,982 feet, in 17 minutes and covering 95 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 19 miles south east of La Pineda, and lasted for 61 minutes, covering 483 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile south east of Plemy, and descended from 32,469 feet above sea level to 2,109 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,360 feet, in 30 minutes and covering 163 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again 2 miles west of EGUH Stoodleigh Barton Private Airstrip Tiverton, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering 28 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 12 at EGFF Cardiff International Airport was made from the west, heading 117.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,278 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 12, which has a length of 1,986 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 143 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 438 meters, and the touchdown speed was 137 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was firm at -333 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 18 knots at a direction of 50 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 16 knots and a headwind of 7 knots. The total landing distance was 1,049 meters, which is 53% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 20.7 meters from the centreline.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 776 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 125 minutes. The aircraft used 4,587 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft successfully landed at Cardiff International Airport, achieving a score of 91.4%. The final approach to runway 12 was conducted from the west, with a heading of 117.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,278 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, ultimately landing safely on the runway.
The landing was executed with a threshold speed of 143 knots, which is considered good. The touchdown distance of 438 meters was also within acceptable limits, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 137 knots was also good, and the touchdown rate of -333 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of landing smoothly.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C and a wind speed of 18 knots from a direction of 50°. This resulted in a crosswind component of 16 knots and a headwind component of 7 knots. Despite these challenging conditions, the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled approach, ultimately landing safely on the runway.
However, there was a minor issue with the runway rollout alignment, which was misaligned by 20.7 meters from the centerline. This suggests that the aircraft may have experienced some difficulty in maintaining a straight course during the rollout phase of the landing. Nevertheless, this issue did not appear to have any significant impact on the overall safety of the landing.
Overall, the Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the landing at Cardiff International Airport, achieving a score of 91.4%. While there were some minor issues with the runway rollout alignment, the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled approach, ultimately landing safely on the runway.
