MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,901 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 433 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a short taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took approximately 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 34 at LGKR Corfu Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 814 meters, which accounted for 43% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 102 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 270°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 0 knots. As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead Corfu in the Ionian Islands, Greece. The climb involved an increase in altitude from 1,007 feet above sea level to 5,833 feet above sea level, a total increase of 4,826 feet, over a distance of 21 nautical miles, and took approximately 8 minutes to complete.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 15 miles southwest of Krini in the Ionian Islands, Greece. This phase lasted for 23 minutes and covered a distance of 72 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 3 miles east of LINL Lecce-San Cataldo Lepore Airfield in Lecce, Italy. The descent involved a decrease in altitude from 5,291 feet above sea level to 2,003 feet above sea level, a total decrease of 3,288 feet, over a distance of 13 nautical miles, and took approximately 4 minutes to complete.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 5 miles east of Torchiarolo in Puglia, Italy. This phase lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 10 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 31 at LIBR Brindisi Airport was made from the southeast, with a heading of 319.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,321 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 31 at LIBR Brindisi Airport was successful, with a touchdown distance of 431 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 64 knots, and the touchdown rate was -166 feet per minute, both of which were good. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.3 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 270°. The crosswind component was 1 knot, while the headwind component was 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 811 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 124 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 52 minutes. The aircraft used 42 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The DA62 aircraft successfully landed at LIBR Brindisi Airport, achieving a high score of 98.7%. The final approach was conducted from the southeast, heading 319.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,321 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 31, which has a length of 2,901 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, but the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 72 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 431 meters was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 64 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -166 feet per minute (fpm) was also good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a light wind of 2 knots from 270°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, and the headwind component was also 1 knot. These conditions contributed to a stable and controlled approach.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.3 meters, but this did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing. The total landing distance of 811 meters was 28% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, and the pilot maintained control of the aircraft throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the DA62 aircraft demonstrating good handling and control characteristics.
